  • What is the ultimate truth for you?

What do you think is the eternal, universal truth and the rest an illusion or a temporary reality?

How can there be an eternal, universal truth in this world when all is finite?
True wisdom comes to each of us when we realize how little we understand about life, ourselves, and the world around us. - Socrates

Truth is maddening, it is preferable to live with beliefs since we have genetically evolved to depend on delusions. Truth doesn't matter and has no importance. Why should such questions and answers to them matter? The fact that your existence can end now by a stray rock from space proves how the universe is oblivious to your significance or itself.

Reason and logic drives these questions, but when you discover that the illogical and unreasonable exist = an electron can be at two different places at the same time.....you realize the absurdity of it all, of these questions.

Theists and A-theists, you are all mad.

Why is questioning God's existence such a grave sin??

Solution to this philosophical question has been pursued from dawn of consciousness.

For me worldly truth is a consensus of what is considered as fact. Bas.

However the validity of this 'consensus' truth depends on logical reasoning (that'll be deductive truth), or scientific evidence (tht'll make it inductive truth), you can go on like the truth extracted by lawyers.

In all above types of truth you will reach a concensus amongst those searching for the truth.

Problems arise with each method. The deductive truth has axiomatic problem - like in maths proofs are carried out using deductive procedures starting from axioms or initial statements, these initial statements are often 'accepted' truths or called 'given facts', unchallenged. In legally extracted truth of courtroom, the initial premises to arguments are again 'assumed' facts, unchallenged. Finally, scientific truth is inductive, by nature it is not ultimate truth because it is open to falsification whenever better facts are available.

So ultimate truth will out with time, any consensus we have is therefore temporal as Toramana posed.

Allah knows all, including time, therefore truth.

we are 'manifested' into human form to learn and create.
there is no division between the creator and the created.

Truth is everywhere, in everything, but one won'T find it nowhere as long as one won't find it inside himself. No books, no words, to schools, no words will bring one to the trouth untill he does not search trouth inside himself.
