My maternal family comes from a small miller in a village, this mill stands still, but I did never go there - hope to find it. All of my family milll are broken and left - perhaps I will take them one day, but its defenitely one of the highest villages in our region where there is almost winter all time

faye, there used to be a lot of jrandas (traditional flour mills) in our village. The blacksmith would take care of it. We had a family jranda on our land (where rice would be sown). jranda/mill used to be my favorite place.

Alas, due to increased mechnization, jrandas have ceased to exist in my village now (since early 1990s).

Areva and faye, when I will take up home in Swat or Hazara or Kohistan or Chitral or Gilgit mountains , I will like to have a small garden where I will grow vegetables and a jranda which will be fee for public to grind their wheat etc. with.
