What does this term mean?

Is the term "Awghan" a derogatory term against Pashtuns? I thought farsiwaan just use this term for Afghans.

Can someone tell me the background to this? Is it like "Pathaan?"

Oh really. since i thought Pathan was a degatory word for Pashtuns or Awghans.

Pathaan is not actually considered a derogatory term in the subcontinent, but it is in Afghanistan.

Afghan spelt awghan, i have only seen in forums where farsiwan deride pashtun. Dont know why the ف become و . A fluent Dari speaker may know the answer.
Pathan is not considered derogatory, many pashtuns in pk refer to pashtun as pathan when speaking urdu. Its a descriptor.

Same as it goes with Pathan, paki or parsiwan. Some mean to use it as a degradatory term, some don't know the negative effect of it and some are unable of pronouncing it the other way.

As long as it takes no other sense, why should it be negative if every language has different sounds.In my language a pashtun is called literally Phushthun փուշթուն(with aspirated P and aspirated T), even if Armenian has also normal P պ and T տ, the aspirated ones Ph փ and Th թ are used for thi word.
