Plucked instruments are my favourite besides Flute.

Qanun (Kanun in Turkish). One of my favourite instruments from middle east. Its most likely of Egyptian or messopotamian origin. Most good players seem to be from Turkey

As said by Shaespeare in the twelfth night "music is the food of love". Great traditional music represents the heart and soul of a nation. Its unfortunate it is becoming a lost art. Instrumrnts have been replaced by computers. Also due to globalization, young people think its not cool anymore to listen to such music.

sometimes traditional activities get picked up again, by later generations. aboriginal didgeridoo playing is now back in fashion.
i have been inspired to put my 'eastern mystique' album on, lol.
