So it is another type!
With cultivar I mean type! I thought in English they say cultivar, but maybe I am wrong.

I think most of Vanilla is produced in Madagascar. It is very hard to collect them and to work them afterwards. Also the typical taste comes only with fermentation, when hey turn from green to black

yes, they have to be collected by hand and the bean is green when picked.
apparently the quality being produced here is very high. i only know of the two farms in the tropics, that were shiown on the program. they are making good money, while there is a world shortage.
Dear Sister, Sharon is not the English name, its a brand for Persimon fruit in Israel. In Europe this brand got very diffused, so people today call the Persimon Sharon, but it is actually not right.

Yesterday one Mongolian friend brought me Mongolian Honey, it smelled so much of Tamarix blossom that I remembered my childhood under the Tamarix trees. Oh, how I love the smell of the Tamarix flowers, here some pictures of those great trees:

Yes, thats right somehow. Historically I read somewhere, that before sugar arrived to Japan, Japanese used the dried Persimon as sweetener. In fact some traditional Japanese ornaments use the immage os persimon fruits.

i thought i have seen the tamarix. apparently, it is now an invasive tree in parts of australia, and has replaced eucalyps along river courses and is a high consumer of water.
i have never seen it in flower, to that degree in the pictures, though.
Can anyone translate the pashto word "koray" in English ? This "koray" plant is widely used by the Pashtuns. Its taste is very bitter, it is grown in mountains but its natural i mean not grown by humans, it is used for pains. Its color is yellow.
ArevaPasht friend, may be you people also use it.
The Article tells that its bark is used as analgesic, so it seems to be the plant You are describing.
We have some other species of Berberis, that are simila but vary in the leaf form. I think we use the bark to colour wool in yellow, also we eat the berries and make a tea of it. I collected last winter a pocket of berries when we went in the mountains.
