madagascar is tropical and has lush rainfoersts and rain for half the year but has an arid zone, in the south. i think it is.
there is a 6000 year old baobab in limpopo, south africa in which they have built a pub. an insult to such an ancient wonder.

Baobabs are typical for places with lond dry seasons! That is why they actually need the stem, they use it as a water reservoir.
The great of Baobabs and Pachypodiums is - You cannot overwater them like cactus, because they grow fne with water and develop the stem, in dry conditions they make less leafs and have a thin stem.

arevapasht, have you done a specific study of trees? i learnt a lot by learning which trees in australia are non native and about bush foods from the aboriginals. also from, just being interested and travel. some amazing ficus in india and sri lanka, that spread right out and a tribe could live under.
i am now into learning about the marine world.

Surah 95. At-Tin (The Fig, The Figtree)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

                    1. By the Fig and the Olive,
                    2. And the Mount of Sinai,
                    3. And this City of security,-
                    4. We have indeed created man in the best of moulds,
                    5. Then do We abase him (to be) the lowest of the low,-
                    6. Except such as believe and do righteous deeds: For they shall have a reward unfailing.
                    7. Then what can, after this, contradict thee, as to the judgment (to come)?
                    8. Is not Allah the wisest of judges?

I believe the sun should never set upon an argument.

I simply love all nature, trees included!
I am very interested in cooler desert trees and try to collect rare species seeds.
Once I have more possibilities I want to make desert plants cultivars with bigger fruits , but it is just a project of my self. desert plants grow really bad in artificial conditions.
I love really all plants and wildlife.

For Arevapasht paradise would be "Nature, Music and Martial arts"

                          me too.
cacti grow well in varied environments i have noted. also, amazingly, i have seen roses growing healthily in desert regions of australia. not wild though.
i think that baobab in limpopo is said to be the oldest tree in the world. did you have a look inside of it, with the link i added?

I have taken a look, Yes, I love the Baobabs - I head also some seeds from Adansonia digiata, but they didn't grow

As I know Baobab isn'T the oldest tree, also Wikipedia says it differently:

                              But who knows?

                              Baobab generally is very big!
Immagine, near to my wifes village there was a Walnut tree big like a medium baobab(You could easily live inside), but some tupid boys burned it down
