web developing --dreamweaver etc

i am currently working on a project and need a website to kick start it but when i got quotes for the developing on the website they were to expensive etc after this though i have to constantly monitor and change the site around as new material is added everyday and i was wondering

how hard would it be for me to attempt to develop the website myself if i get dreamweaver?

also how hard isit to update and maintain a website using dreamweaver?

any answers are welcome asap!

What kind of "project" are you working on? These days you don't even need a "traditional" web site, social media is taken it over. Twitter, Facebook, tumblr, should be sufficient. If you must, just use blogger (easy to create a website) and buy a domain name through blogger for something like $10 a year

its a complicated project il outline it for you

there are many start up music artists in the UK who want to get recognition but cant due to the costs etc they also want to meet up with other artists or other people who do beats but its hard to do that if there is not a common ground and place. my website will basically act as the place where each artist will get their own page like a bio and all thier music they have done, they can blog on the same page to keep fans updated etc, their will be videos of interviews with the artists etc following them see how they are doing up dating the fans, on the home page there will be like most played video of the week or new realses etc to get more unique visitors and keep visitors re-visiting the site.

there will also be "raw tapes" sessions where i will be booking artists in for an hour with some1 who does beats and get them to record me something in an hour on the spot its to keep the fans excited and come on we all love raw bars!

there will also be an e-commerce for artists to sell merchandise to fans etc

now this i cant just make using 1 of those online toolds i need some1 to act write the code!

Am pretty sure Blogger can do most of what you want, and the drag and drop will save alot of time. create an account and play around with it, you'll like it.

I'm sure Admin Khan can help you out, if you wanna go the "traditional" way.

the thing is it needs to professional, it will be getting updated constantly as well, every time an artist does a new video i will have to update, every time a video interview is done with an artist in the studio i will have to update that, there will be lots of promotions and things going on

i no a lot of afghan rappers who have done professional videos and they have only posted them on youtube only to get 300-400 views max, with the site people will go to see them and others who come to see them will look at them also etc it will help them expand out and reach more.

so yes thats why i prefer the traditional way as i will be using my own pictures etc aswell so yh hopefully admin khan and anyone else can give me a shout here

heres what i am after very similar to this,

difference between mine and them is they charge an artist around 400 pounds just to get a video done, i have links to studios who will do it for 35 an hour! also to get your video onto their site it has to meet certain things so its extremely hard, mine will be an open playground helping them to get out there

edit: also with sbtv its all the mainstream big artists that are on there, mine i am targeting the start up, like the only people to have heard of them is their fb group of friends

its a huge game man!!! i want these guys to have freedom to rap or sing about what ever they feel free to do, when they get signed onto record labels etc they are dictated what to do and they lose that free will off doing what they wanted to!

yh ino its very easy to have a website these days but i think if i approach this using traditional method the attraction will be bigger

You'll need to spend some money to get it customized (budget $500-$1000 -layout-plugins-etc. go to freelancer.com), and there are plenty of modules available even for free to get what you want done.

But here is the thing, people come up with a thousand ideas, they all sound great, but they never act on it. You best be sure that you are going to do this before you spend your money.

Post the project on freelancer, if your max is $1000, limit it $500 on there. Do not go with Pakistani project managers, too much begging, and they NEVER finish on time. With Indians, make sure they have great reviews. If no reviews don't bother. Max over 100 reviews. European, and Russian for best quality for the price. American, UK project managers and programmers, only if you can afford them.
