I have been a frequent visitor to these forums for around at least a year or so but never really made and account as many of the topics would result in arguments and Pashtuns calling other Pashtuns non-muslims or Iranians etc.
So i didn't want to bother getting into pointless fights but just read so I could have a better understanding of my people as i'm only 16, moved to Holland when I was 6 months old and then to Britain.
There have been arguments about us Pashtuns being Aryan, white or if we should be associate ourselves with whatever type of people. And one thing I don't understand is why do so many of us have a hard time understanding who we are?
No one really knows where the Aryans originated from or who they are, most think that they originated from the Iranian plateau, but this doesn't really mater because if you go that far back you can even go further and find out we are all descendants from Adam and Eve, even Africans... When people say Pashtuns are white because we are Caucasoid it doesn't make sense because even dark Indians are classified as Caucasoid. The aryan theory might be true but that doesn't mean the darker people of us aren't Pashtun for example there are white Italians as well as darker ones.
So who are we? It's very simple, we are from the east Iranic race who have a distinct culture and people with an honor code that's unique to any other(Pashtunwali).
Another issue I have come across (mainly on youtube) is the race and religion clash. I have the opinion that culture is very important and inter-racial marriages and multiculturalism do not work to bring peace. Just look at Afghanistan for instance, the Pashtuns, Tajiks, Uzbeks and Hazaras always seem to have a reason to fight each other. So i think we should all hope for and work for a future country which will only be inhabited by our people (even if there is war, at least it won't be foreigners killing us). The only people in the region that hasn't had trouble with us are the Balochis, there is no way Pashtuns can improve when we trust others. Many won't agree because they say we are all Muslim etc. But it's better to first make your own family good Muslims and then tell others how to improve, no? Once we have established our homeland and removed the Durrand line, given Tajik majority lands to Tajikistan, Uzbek majority to Uzbekistan( the Hazaras are leftovers from Genghis Khans army so they can go Mongolia, if not accepted they will be an exception and can stay) then we can become a perfect Muslim land and be an example.
"O Mankind, we created you from a single pair of a male and a female, and made you in to tribes and nations so that you may know each other (not that you despise each other). Verily, the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is he who is most righteous of you." (Al-Quran, Chapter 49, Verse 13)
This goes to show that that diversity is a gift and that our differences should be recognized and appreciated. Just because we follow Islam doesn't mean we should give away our women to Somalians or Punjabis does it? This is not racist, in actual fact it's anti racist, I say europe for European, Punjabistan for Punjabis etc. Right now there is a demo graphical genocide going on against the Pashtuns by the Tajiks and Punjabis whether it's direct or indirect, on purpose or accidently.
This is just something i wanted to get out of my system and if I go against anyone's opinions don't insult me or tel me who I'm not Pashtun or whatever just accept there is a difference in opinion and counter argue me.
