It depends on what your looking for. Califonia is nice to visit but I myself would not want to live there.
pros: weather, natural beauty. you could go snow boarding or skiing in the morning and surfing in the ocean in the afternoon on the same day. population is diverse mostly latinos
cons: alot of pot heads(weed smoking), people are weird, gap between rich and poor is high, the last govornor was a hollywood actor, traffic jams are frequent, police officers are mostly arrogant jerks, bad public transportation

people are socially liberal and economically conservative

toronto is a very nice city to live in and visit.
pros: friendly people, city is next to one of the superior lake, diverse population, natural beauty, low crime rate, good education atmosphere, friendly and helpful police officers,
cons: weather(its cold in the winter time but nice in the summer time, the city is currently occupied by canada but should belong to america

Chicago is also a very nice city to live in and visit. It is in the heartland of America.
pros: nice food, friendly people, diverse population, rests on one of the superior lakes, natural beauty, good pulic transportation, there is always something to do
cons: weather(cold in the winter time but nice in the summer time), police officers are jerks, traffic jams are frequest but not as bad as califonia

I have never been to NYC yet so dont go there unless I approve of it first.

Let me know if you are coming, I will have a posse waiting to kick your arse as you have not thanked my posts recently. After that they will welcome you and help you get situated comfortbly.

I live in Toronto, I like it here. It's quite multi-cultural, racial tension is quite low, and there's so many opportunities here. I also enjoy all the four climate I receive here (summer, spring, fall and winter), which I won't receive in California. Crime rates are also low (although they seem to be higher than usual right now, still low though in comparison to other big cities), and plus I'm so close to New York and the U.S!

I would avoid California like the plague. The state is going bankrupt, multiple cities are already broke, and nothing seems to be in order. Everything is going bad for California. The education system is deteriorating, since they have no funds, and economists are speculating that the "bankruptcies" of these cities are just the beginning for California's problems. Unless your tech, and a bad economy doesn't hurt your pocket, Cali is the wrong place to be living in right now, avoid! If you want a quiet, and amazing life, Massachusetts is arguably the best state in the world. You have an amazing quality of life, and the best higher education system in the world. The people are also pretty friendly, not to mention the food is pretty good as well. It's also composed of very highly educated people. Low crime rate bundled with some nice folks. Not to mention, if you have kids, they might have a stab at some of the worlds best universities. It is every Indian, Pakistanis dream to attend one of the elite Mass universities.

Now if you enjoy that busy city life, then it's a known fact that no city on earth can be compared to NYC. Cities like Toronto, LA, are just low scaled cheaper versions of the city that never sleeps. With nearly 800 languages spoken, along with a robust economy bundled with top notch universities, NY is the way to go. The economy has various sectors, so it's not just geared towards a single industry, although the Tech industry is growing at a remarkable rate in NY, to an extent where it can threaten most of the traditional tech hubs of the world. That new high tech university being built seems to have most states a bit nervous. Anyways, If you want diversity and that 'fast-paced' 'fun' life, go for NYC. If you are quiet, and enjoy quiet people Mass is the way to go. Your life will never be the same.

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

I think most Afghanan would like the Provo/Orem area and Utah in general. According to my teachers the geography has A LOT of similarity to Afghanistan. The people in general are deeply religious, generous, modest in manner & dress (not like muslims but way more than most americans), polite, racially & ethnically very tolerant and honest.

as for California, i too would not want to live there, but i very much enjoyed my time at the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare School in Bridgeport in 2000. the area was beautiful.

it depends, mostly it's the guys in traditional arab attire & sihks that get messed with because most americans are ignorant but especially the Department of Homeland Security retards at the airports. I won't let my wife & daughters fly because there is no respectful way for them to go through the security procedures at the airports now.

One of my distant Pakistani cousins was taken by the same people in England for a year or something. He knew the people they were looking for but he didn't do nothing other than fund them unknowingly by providing them with credit cards to buy the fertilizer. After he got aqcuitted, he got paid £60,000 for an interview with channel 4 and he believes that his life has improved.
