a leech is a slug like creature that lives in my area of the world, sucks blood after attaching itself to a body. when it is full, it drops off.
i once tried to kill one with a knife by chopping 1 in 2. there were 2 bodies lieing inert. all of a sudden, the head end of the leech lifted it's head and started moving away. a few seconds later, the end half also started moving away. lol, i was impressed. pretty good survival tactic, eh?
anyways, i never have tried to chop one into 4, as yet.

I think of him a 'wolesmashr' of Afghanistan
Life is like posing for pictures. We pose the way we want to be seen by others. But stolen shots are better. They capture who we really are...
Karzai is much maligned for corruption, Siphoning money from international donations, using his office to help his family and friends, for being a puppet of US, being used by US because of his knowledge of oil industry Uni something company, rigging votes, not being unequivocal about pakistan, etc etc. Further to all these allegations, compromising on foreign bases and troops having prolonged presence is national betrayal. I suspect his hands are tied when it comes to saying anything against US.
I am sure this level of corruption and malaise of character and integrity is with so many western politicians. Thatchers boys exploited their connection, British MPs have been accused by the press and questioned various panels about money's gained unethically, vote irregularities in Florida with Bush, the German Chancellor Helmut Kohl was humiliated for his embezzlement, then come the next category of politicians, Philipino, Myanmar leaders, North Korean bad hair day dictator, Mubarrak, Gadaffi, Saud's, all these guys steal money from national coffers, almost forgot, Zardari, Bhuttos, Sharifs, . . . . All of these can be accused of being propped up by some clandestine western support.
For me in between my home in Afghanistan and migrant job in Dubai, Karzai being president or not, may be ultra vires, Afghanistan has become a place where I can now carry on life with more order than ever before. He has managed to administer some money n the country. I know there are parts of AF developing better than others, and vice versa, but I seen improvement in my circles of life in AF.
Of course I wonder wht Ghani, Abdullah, Qanooni, or other would have done better, that time will tell.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
