  • Can Afghan citizens buy land in Pakhtunkhwa/Balochistan?

Recently a relative of ours who bought land in Peshawar in the 1990s was expelled from his home. He bought the land in the name of his friend who was a pakistani pashtun but after he died his sons didn't recognize the fact and said the land belongs to them. They built a huge house over that land and now they have been explled and courts say that my relative can't prove the land belongs to him as Afghans are not allowed to buy land.

Is this true or not? I have seen many Afghans own businesses in KPK. I don't get it.

Buying land in pakistan is pretty easy as long as you got right connections, many afghans do own land and businesses all over pakistan

In your relatives case it might be a different reason, maybe he didn't have proper documents to prove his ownership of the land?

Many afghans have monopolized some areas of Rawalpindi markets completely. If they can have businesses in Punjab I don't see why they can't in pakhtunkhwa.

Why would afghans want to buy land in KP since you all hate it so much?

strange since you all seem to flock there when things get tough.

There is no point in saying that you can't do business in here Who said that. Speaking legally if you aren't a citizen of Pakistan you can't purchase land here .. That's it !!

Sorry wrora, by business I also meant purchasing land, many pakhtuns from Afghanistan settled in Peshawer but at the same time many went to Punjab too. Just in my district of Gujarkhan, some of the land is owned by Afghans. Just a few 100 years ago my greats were "foreigners", purchased land in Rawalpindi district and settled there. There is no law in pakistan lol, if you have money you can do what you like. We had some big amount of land which hadn't been attended to in at least 30-50 years and it got taken over by General Ashfaq Kiyanis family because nobody was bothered about it.

Rest as Ajmal Khattak said, 'Ghaakh che matawalay shi hagha saray khaaghalay day .. hagha zamong kalay day hagha staso kalay day .. '
