Your inspiration in life?

My great grandfather(pakhtun) was a very good inspiration for me, he saw his father die of starvation while he was young left with one younger sister and worked hard all his life in the railway business in the 1800s all the way to 1900s to bring up 6 daughters and 2 sons. Ended up having enough money to by land the size of central london at the time in pakistan. May Allah grant him jannah..ameen

Well, my inspiration lately..risk falling flat on my face! I'm usually my own inspiration.

My inspiration in life? Injustice. No, not that I like seeing it, of course, but that it inspires me to do something about it.

I also get inspiration from songs like this one: Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe, an Urdu song from the Indian movie "Dil Chahta Hai."

Love the lyrics! I've been listening to it non-stop these past few days.

I agree with Dukemina and Palwasha. Sometimes when I start to think of suffering or injustice, or simply the fact that I live alone with my teenage son.... then deep inside there comes a calm, and I smile because I know that Allah is with me, Allah loves me and that is what really matters in my life!

There is a story and it was told by a trustworthy scholar and a friend of mine told me about it and if the scholar did not appeared in TV or my friend missed it or he forgot it you would have not heared/read this story :

A man muslim with beard and with islamic clothes landed up in the office of a doctor,while this doctor was going to check him.The doctor told him i have seen many people in my life here , rich,poor,inteligent , knowledgable and so on.But no one of them could answer my question.The doc continued and said : I have everything a good wife,money,cars,villas but my heart is not happy.

The muslim interrupted him and said : Before you question me let me question you something.

The doc said : Go ahead.

The muslim said : What do you do to satisfy your eyes?
The doc said : I look at something that is beautiful that i enjoy watching,going to cinema and so on.

The muslim said : What do you do to satisfy your nose ?
The doc said : I smell something that smells good like parfume or a rose.
The muslim said : What do you do to satisfy your tongue and throat ?
The doc said : I eat something sweet and good.

The muslim asked him: Will the thing that satisfy your nose satisfy your eyes ?
The doc said : No.
The muslim continued : Will the thing that satisfy your eyes satisfy your nose ?
The doc replied : No.

The muslim further :Will the thing that satisfy your tongue satisfy your nose?
The doc replied : No.

The muslim said : This is the similarity of your situation,the money and all wealth you have is just for your eyes and your feelings,but they do not satisfy other parts,the thing that satisfy your heart is imaan,because for every part of your body there is something that satisfies it and the satisfaction for your heart is the believe the imaan , islam.
