I have never met a Bengali, I and my friends and family have total 0 conection whith that country. The only thing that I know that Bengalis have two faces like Pakistany. When Taliban took power in Afghanistan Saudi Arabie Pakistan and Bangladesh were the first who recognized there as goverment, I know that SA en Porkistan are actually pure evil but Bangladesh whith its secular goverment supported an theocratic goverment whith bearded apes who killed almost evryone who had difrent opnion on life and Islam, you supported the opression of my peopel, you should be ashamed of you goverment. So for me Bengalis are just egoistic peopel who would do anything to benefit themself like Pakistan, I actually don't know why you seperated, you behave and look so the same.

its really eye opening some of these views, but some are not even valuable anthropologically: like the above point, I mean sure say the perceptions even if they're negative, but just insulting them isnt really saying what the perception is. since you mention government, that's fine i myself dont like the government of Bangladesh either or of Pakistan's or of Bangladesh's or of Afghanistan's so i agree with you there, but what has that got to do with the people...
But if bengalis are seen as egotistical thats fine anthropologically, but i can tell you for sure many people would say whats the difference between afgahn and pakistanis so tbh i think we're a lot more different to pakis than afghan's are...
also dazahrojaam, that's fine if thats what they say in his village, if they mean it as an insult as short and dark, thats fine because darker people can be hugely better than lighter people in Islam and vice versa. the colour of the skin doesnt work as an insult, if thats what he meant...but its interesting, contrasting american perceptions of bengalis and afghans' perceptions of bengalis....
the british perception is quite different.
