    Dear Din.

There is a place and time to do prayers, and its in a Mosque, those who become emotional, just to make a statement like the guy on the video praying on top of a Taxi, just makes him look like a disobient citizen and your typical disorganised individual.

I dont see anything attractive about it, besides it being odd, just like a man walking down the street with a long hat.

If a Christian, did the exact same in say Saudi Arabia, you and I Know, what would happen.

    You got love Secularism!

I'm pretty sure you wouldn't say that in a British Forum if it was a picture of a Gay Pride.

So you're not different from Saudis.

the same one who are saying every second word "estafeallah ", or "subhanallah" , just to be the true muslim ,

i saw a similar case in a plain the dude , a pakistani , prayed in the passage way .considering that he had no compass and the plain was doing a curve in the other direction .

Al Hanif, maybe your are use to living in your criminal french ghettos, where nobody likes you, but in the real world, we follow laws and organise ourselves.

If you want to pray, do it in a Mosque,Church or a buddist temple. What you don't do is sit on top of a taxi, get your friend to record you, and show to the world how pious you are.

I find it degrading and abit desparate. In a sane minded persons view, all i see, is a man, doing odd movements on top of a taxi, Most people will follow the same view, people like you(Al Hanif) will politicise such occurances, and make yourself look like a complete fool.

The purpose of the thread starter was to declare a emotional plea, being that, if your Muslim, you should do such things, as Allah becomes happy, such people never get or understand the baci tenet of a organised society, its the same sort, you find abroad, especially in Pakistan, who do wudu in a sewage infested nile, risking the health of fellow prayers, such people have motives, if you want to pray, do it in a Mosque, for which I am sure there are plenty and at times too many.

Its as simple as that. If you want to pray, do it in a Mosque

Wrong you pray in a mosque if thers a mosque around, its prefered to pray in a mosque its not the only option.

Yes thers a time to do prayers, clearly this man is punctual.

how you are against Islam and yet fail to have basic knowledge about Islam is pathetic.

disobidient citizen? what about the naked men and women flaunting there private parts in broad daylight exposing themselves to school childen, is that being an 'obedient' citizen?. unlike you this man doesnt feel the need to conform, his conscienceness for god is greater than impressing people.

he's got the balls to carry out something in what he believes in, odd to a non-muslim but so what.

I'm sorry but I don't live in a ghetto. Unlike you, I'm not a fat expatriate in the middle of Londonistan living on welfare, who killed Chechen babies and who supports the genocide of his own people.

I'm a student, studying mathematics so as I expect to not spent my days and nights on a PashtunForum when I'll be 30 years old.

how did you come out with the conclusion that his friend took the video, and not a curious passer by recording?

It is preferrable to pray in congregation but not everyone can do that on a regular basis, five times a day.

Emotional? Just to make a statement?
How do you know that he is being 'emotional' and how do you know his intentions?

lol @ "disobient citizen and your typical disorganised individual", it's America, not the Soviet Union.

Perhaps he had done wudu earlier?

I think we are being too judgemental here. We do not know his intentions.
Rather than complaining about how pious certain people may want others to percieve them to be, we should concentrate on improving ourselves.

Regarding the guy on the plane, if he could not face the qiblah then, yeah, he should have delayed it.

If he could however, then he should pray as best as he is able.

How do you know what the purpose of the thread starter was?
He simply posted a video. Perhaps you made that assumption given the title of the thread, but it is the same title of the video. Most of Din's threads where he posts videos share the same title as the video.

lol @ "wudu in a sewage infested nile".

Firstly, the Nile is in Egypt, not Pakistan.
Secondly, where the hell did you get that from? lol, their wudu would not be valid if that were the case so I doubt that occured. Perhaps it did, but that would be very odd. There are certain conditions for ablution and prayer to be valid, that includes performing both in a clean, hygenic environment.

If you want to pray, do it wherever you want.
Whether that is in a Mosque (preferrably) or in your home or in a field. Allah (swt) has given us the whole Earth to pray on, as long as the environment & person is clean.
Provided no law is being broken and you are not obstructing other people, I see no problem.

The guy could have just waited and done his prayer qaza-ee but for Sunni Muslims it is important to pray on time and very bad (considered sinful by some) if one delays it without sufficient reason (let alone simply skipping it). We do not know the guy's intentions so we should be careful about the conclusions we come to. Having said that, prayer is meant to be between the induvidual and Allah (swt) and one must be sincere and have his thoughts only on the prayers. The intention must not be to make a point or to impress others. But again, we do not know his intentions so we should refrain from judging him.

He prayed. This is not some spectacular achievement. It is obligatory. Standard procedure. I don't see any reason to praise him but neither do I see any reason to scold him.

He does have guts though, i'll give him that.
Willing to express himself in public when most are too scared to even wear a salwar kamees or let their beards grow long for fear of how the evermore islamophobic society judges them.

You people are making a big fuss over nothing.
People in New York express themselves in all sorts of different ways, why should Muslims not do so either? This guy wasn't blocking traffic, he wasn't preaching or breaking the law, so what's the problem?
                    ---
To advise others is an easy matter, the difficulty is accepting advice -- since it is bitter for those who follow their
                    own inclinations and desires
                    .
