  • I think....is awesome because...

    Assaalaam walaikum,

Here is a more "cheerful" post to offer some relief between the very controversial/depressing/negative topics otherwise offered on the site!

You pick someone who is awesome in PF, and explain why!

    I shall start!

Jasmine is awesome because she has a heart of gold!

Shlombay is awesome because he reminds me of spongebob

Laila is awesome because rich and beautiful doctors make great roommates

Admin Khan is awesome for creating PF

Qrratugai is awesome because she always has something to say that is unique and challenging to my thoughts!

        Wa'alaykum asalaam.

I know your intention is all good and well, but do be careful sis. It's not advised to praise one another so much in Islam.

The Messenger of Allaah, sall-Allaahu `alayhi wasallaam, discouraged this so severely, saying that whoever praises his brother has "cut his neck", and in other narrations, "destroyed him". Other narrations command/urge us to throw dust in the faces of thse who praise us. These ahaadeeth can be found in Al-Bukhaaree's Al-Adab Al-Mufrad.

I have more on the topic if need be. =)

            So...I shouldn't say good about people?...urgghhh

Its all fun and games. Most isn't serious....

I think a nice here and there comment/thank you is acceptable by Allah swt.

I think Khaney is awesome for being so knowledgeable and helpful. See no harm there. Its true.

              @toryalai I don't think it's just about nazar ... people's hearts are strange...

I remember something was said about how if someone was praised often they wouldn't aspire to do greater .... or something along those lines .. etc etc

if anyone wants to know more, i guess khaneyy jaan can share with us inshaAllah =)

                Add Masha allah in there

When we praise others we must always remember Allah in this too for we were created by Allah

Lol, no, it's not that you shouldn't say good about people. It's nice to say something good about someone, though it's better to be said in their absence. This way less harm is likely to be done. When we praise one another to our faces, thoughts of pride and such are felt. Also, the response of happiness felt by the reciever, thus accepting the praise, can lead to a lack of humilty and humbleness.

                    If you get me sis.

I understand this can be a hard concept to grasp, I was ever so slightly confuzzled when I first learnt and read of this, but to me it makes sense.

Just a reminder to be careful.

I cant believe that a prophet can use words like these

that whoever praises his brother has "cut his neck", and in other narrations, "destroyed him". Other narrations command/urge us to throw dust in the faces of thse who praise us.

This is not prophetic language and motivation, praise, admiration, encouregment etc are all basic human needs and based on human instint and psychology. How can one stop some one not to praise others and if some praise sthen such harsh punishments for them,,,,,,no way,,,,,,,,all these are fabricated hadith and has nothing to do with reality. Please dont claim such ugly words for a prophet .
