Firing is not uncommon. They not only did it in weddings, but did it when the first son was born and/or when circumcised. I know it was done when my brother was born. I find it quite stupid though, many random innocent folks have died from it. and not really know where else the bullets will land. But from this video, i have never seen it when so many men were firing at once, usually its one or two men who do it. also they usually make sure they are far from others as well. nonetheless, its still not safe

If they would hold their rifles in a 90 degree angle to the surface, the bullets wouldn´t have that much kinetic energy when they come down.

But they hold them in a 60 to 45 degree angle and the trajectory of the bullet will make the bullets land some 1000 to 1200 meters with almost full force ( minus the loss by friction).

                    It´s just stupid!

Back in the day in villages, the eldest man would go to a certain distance far from the homes to fire. and they would fire straight up. but this video, it just seems they are firing like a bunch of loonies. And look at how they are bunched up so close to one another

while i appreciate the manliness of it all, its quite silly.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.
