  • Why do you like PF?

I assume that if we (PF members) come here regularly, it must be something that attracts us and makes that we like this place.

So why do you like this forum?

There are many reasons why I like PF. One of the most important - it's a very decent, not offensive place.

passionate and bright people are on this forum. the mods, although some disagree, are very lenient to peoples 'self expression'.

There is a very big Pashtun community here in all parts of California, but why restrict myself to just one state when we have millions of Pashtuns around the world to interact with. The best way is through a forum. Plus, i love learning about unique Pashto/Pakhto dialects and reaching out to Pashtuns from Swabi, Peshawar, Khost, Kandahar, etc.

I visit this forum to know the point of views of pashtun expatriates in the west as majority of members here belong to westren countries.

There is a plethora of info here about Pashtun history and I have learned a lot in the short time I've been here. What also keeps me coming back is the current events discussion topics; nowhere else can I find as many articles or news about Pashtuns globally. I'm also very appreciative of the great Pashto language section, where I am also exposed to the different dialects.

To learn about alternative views, and to meet different people. I can honestly say I've learned a lot.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

I don't go to school like most of you so this place gives me an opportunity to practice on my grammar and not lose my vocabulary which I very easily do otherwise.
I also enjoy the fact that I get to have the company of you fine people through out the day when i am at work. ( see, I can bs too!)
