back in the days when our parents were kids and they lived in the villages around the iftaar time they would be given their plates of food and sent off to the 'baagh' (i don't know the english word for it..) where they would gather with other children under the shade of pomegranate trees (apparently) and wait for the mullah to do the azaan. and once the mullah azaaned, they would all scream (it's iftaar time, it's iftaar time..[good thing i was not born back then..]) and have a picnic.
yeah...i haven't had an experience as such myself...

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

i have a cousin. he was very funny back in the days when we were kids. it was either the first or second time we ( me him and other kids our age) had decided to fast a few days of the month. an hour before the iftaari the guy started complaining about being really thirsty...eventually everyone started ignoring him. the next thing you know he goes outside to the street and starts azaaning. everyone broke their fast....17 years later i still cringe at the memory of him getting beaten up by his father once others realized he had ruined everyone's roja that day...
and yes he is the same cousin that talked me into burrying a chicken alive...

            ^^^^

            "Burying a Chicken alive"

Oh wow that is horribly cruel. afghans are known for treating animals very harshly.

            Ramadan memories?

            Same thing every year.
