  • A Year has Passed

So a little over a year has passed since this forum was established. We have many members that have been here since the first month, ie, myself, BLS, etc. Have you noticed any change in yourself since joining? especially if it was your first time in a forum. Have you met any good friends from here that you may have met up and are now inseperable? Met a relative here and surprised he/she would even be a member? Came upon the man or woman of your life and got married? Learned more about Pashtuns in general, or of your province, tribe, history, etc. just share away.......

Personally, i have learned a lot more about Pakhtunkhwa, actually more than i thought. At first i only knew/heard about Peshawar (my birthplace), Swat, and Waziristan, but i didnt know so many other beautiful areas had existed. Also i didnt know much of the different sort of dialects, besides the Southern and Eastern dialect.....then reality hit me when i tried to understand Nokia's Pakhto I also ended up finding out that i have 2 male cousins here, who i met in person while visiting back home.

Nice to hear your story Laila. In fact, PF has been a huge help in me learning Pashto and the fact that many posts includes the romanized version and Pashto script is invaluable to me. My eyes have also been opened to the political sphere in the region.

The sheer amount of resources and knowledge shared is impressive considering PF is only one!

my views of pashtuns have changed drastically in a very negative way. i didn't know the population of pashtuns across the border was as vast as it is. i used to be very fond of the waziristani pashto dialect. i am not anymore.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

this forums been around for only a year?!?! wow, i thought it was much older than that...masha'Allah keep up the good work
The Beloved Messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, so beautifully advised his nation when he said:

“Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day let him speak good or remain silent.” [Bukhari and Muslim]

i wanted to make this thread too but i forgot lol so thanks Lailo!

ok so since where i come from there are very few pashtuns & the other young afghans are crazy, i'm rarely surrounded by young pashtuns so when i first came to PF it was nice to be surrounded by pashtuns. Also as time went on it kept me intact with everything that's going on in afghanistan & pakistan and also amongst our pashtuns I've also learned a lottt, so much that i couldn't even list it all lol tbh i didn't really know that much history before i came here but alhumdulillah i picked things up quickly. i also learned a lot from the religion section and now i get to speak pashto more often lol
I've met a lot of great people here too. I've also learned that you can't solely base your opinnion of someone on their actions you have to look @ their intentions too LOL yes i learned that at PF :P someone who seems nice and good may actually be evil and someone who seems bad and evil might actually be really nice but we also can't judge anyone either so everyone can just do them i haven't met any members in person lol and i dont think thats going to happen, but i have outside connections with a couple members so basically a step lower from meeting them in person LOL kind of....

wow did any members really get married through PF? :O

hahahahaha @ Nokia. the best change i think that i went through was from not understanding a word of what Nokia wror was saying to actually being able to reply to him

so yeahhh. i dont know you guys have seen me from the beginning to now lol i'm always shy at first but now i feel like PF is where its at

oh yeah and it's always sad to see members leave or just disappear lol

I been on PF since it started and I learn all my history here lol, so this forum have been a big asset to me .
I also get to talk to people from Afghanistan and Pakhtunkhwa so it was nice having to able to speak to members from both side of the Durrand Line and learn their Pashto.
And as for Nokia Afridi lol..well I do understand 50% of what he is saying .
its because he types it as the way he is saying like Computer, he will said cumputaar, Ameerika (America) etc etc lol.

Well my perception of Pakhtanuh hasnt changed because I always understood my people, for all its stripes and colours

The only real personal benefit to me, has been to meet with several of the PF members in real life. (Nick, Admin Khan, BLS, Toramana, Alchemist, ) and having added several of the members to my facebook (Esapzai, Shebaz Khan, BLS, Maseed)

Im happy to have interacted with my Lar brothers. These connects will come in handy when one day, I make a lil trip over to Pekhawar and Quetta
