  • ^ well the line for the cashier is not obvious, but i was standing right there in the aisle. Then these two nerdy kids buying Dr.Pepper's just cut me. And i guess the cashier saw but she just kinda gave me a smile and went ahead and rang them up. Then when they were done, one of the guys turns around and asks me if he cut. I was like "no s**t Sherlock"

I didnt say it, i just thought of it in my head

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Not really. I think I'm done with Stonybrook

I am applying to the College of Continuing and Professional studies in New York University. I went to an information session, and it seems they accept students no matter the GPA. It's based on your resume and The application process is quite rough, you have to write down 2 personal statement essays.

Why are you done with Stony, and why do you want to attend NYU? Won't the commute kill you?

            What's your major?

The commute to Stonybrook is a 40 minute car ride, while the NYU commute is an Hour train ride.

I'm a Business major, that is what I got the half degree from (Associates degree). I transferred to Stonybrook, as it was the best University around. The turnoff was that their business program is horrible, since its a science school.

Attending NYU, will expose me to corporations like Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, and JP Morgan through their Wasserman career services.

I disagree with your decision, because NYU is extremely expensive. If you are into business, you can't go wrong with Baruch college, who competes and is a rival of NYU stern. Baruch is extremely cheaper, and it's Zicklin School of Business will expose to the big 4 players through their STARR career services. Besides, Baruch is also located in Manhattan.

                • I do however, understand your decision. Stony Brook is a science and engineering school. It has buildings dedicated to science, which are the same of some colleges. It's Physics, Bio, Chem, CS, BME and many other of it's building are the size of some schools.

I have a friend in the Zicklin school of business. He said Baruch is good, but nothing like NYU. Goldman Sachs only interviews the top students in each major in Baruch, while you have a slighty higher chance getting an interview with an NYU degree.
