My dad knows a family who spoke hindko instead of mirpuri, or whatever kashmiri language. They didn't speak their own language because they were ashmed, the grandfather/family said they didn't want people to recognise them as being Mirpuri, coz of the bad reputation and all and since it's not a nice sounding language.
