some universites allow you to buy a meal plan even if you do not live on campus. I am sure its cheaper to do that versus buying lunch everyday and spending like $8 a day.

my school allowed me to buy a meal plan, $150 every term. And i got about 6 meals a week. it was a lot cheaper than buying lunch. Saved me a lot of money from my checking account.Then budget cuts came along and that option is no longer available.
