ok so we gt these 2 ryt:

x+y=15 and x+y=17

square x+y=17 al;l of it so u get : x^2+y^2=225

sub that into the other equation to get: x^2+(17-x)^2=225

expand add/subtract etc to get 2x^2-34x+289=225 which goes to----------> 2x^2-34x+64=0

and then use the formula to get your answers but they will be like 2.16 etc wont be round numbers so i dont no if thats it?

where did you get x+y=15 and x+y=17?
and why did you square both sides?

and the rest looks good you just substituted, simplified and used quadratic formula so yeah must be close enough :D

@gul i get 14.84 and 2.16 for x and then sub that back into x+y=15 to get your y values

well i squared both sides so if u square root 25 u get 5 rember and square root the squared bits u just get left with x-5+y-5=5 and then take the 5 other side and u get x+y=15 sme with the other equation
