Too many Kabulis and Kandaharis on PF.

No. Its just a word introduced by Kandaharis. Therefore people use it as a reference to Kandaharis.

Similarly, Kandaharis use words like "kurbano". As a result, now many refer to Kandaharis as "kurbano".

likewise, people call Khostwal sometimes "malgariya" because they use "malgariya" quite allot.

The most irritating word must be "jaan". Its like the worst thing ever. In kabul everybody is jan. Daaktar jan. Mullah Jan. Malem Jan. Police Jan. Amreekayi jan. Karzai Jan. Doz jan. Morgh Jan. gaw jan.

One Afghan girl I wanted to get to know better for marriage rejected me. Because I never used the word Jan when I spoke to her or about her relatives.

So if anybody would call Kabulis Jan, I would lie about my place of birth. I hate jan. Some people ven say: Kabul Jan.

there use to be this former mujahid in UK. From Kunar. He use to teach me about Islam. so one day I told him I detest the use of the word "jan". He told me well you should. Because according to some scholars "jan" is a nickname of the devil.

                          • LOOOOL that's So hilarious.. Yeah, we Kandaharis say 'dagha' as often as Kabulis say chi..

Agha dagha di dagha ta oor dagha kay?

Like people ask you this and expect you to know what they're talking about.

The other day someone was like. "Oh my God. That dude looks like that one star!"
I'm like, "Oh yeah, that one star!"
He's like, "Yeah the movie star!"
I'm like, "Oh yeah from that one movie??"

It funny when you go along with it LOL

really? i never heard about that. I only allow certain people that call me jan, like my close family. Other than that, my family and relatives back home call me Bibi. Its more respectful to say than 'jan.' But i do use jan for girls because i dont know what else to say lol

well, the dagha is not something typical for kandaharis. We say that allot. Especially the villagers.

One other distrubing habit our villagers have is, that when they talk they point at people and objects with their middle finger.

THere was a meeting between village elders. And there was a dispute about water shares. So one of the village elders stands up wearing his grey turban and nice bushy beard and with his rough peasant hands starting to point at the people around him with his middle finger.

It was a dead serious and tense jirga. And I couldnt help but laugh at his middle finger pointing at his rivals.
