What to look for in the bride?

This is an important issue especially for the women-folk of the family that are at the helm of the affair. Often the criteria are very stringent that take into account the physical attribute of the girl to her culinary skills etc. One of my relatives were looking for a girl for her son. And God, when she stated me the list of desirable attributes, I was sort of confused for a few minutes.

The list was almost exhaustive...You can imagine that the girl she was looking for was required to have the beauty of Aishoriya Roy, the character of some some prophetes, the culinary skills of French cooks, at the same time not too talkative, not too taciturn,...She even had specifications that the neck should be this long, height should be this much, eyes ghtatai, wrozai ganrai,...etc. etc. etc.

I told her, gul, bring it down...with these specifications, you cannot find a girl even in one decade...but she was incistent that she would try...

People tend to have a 'list' of what to look for....causing false hopes for many. I myself, had a very long list and perhaps impossible for any man to even have all. Once a proposal or a person is in front of you, and you like the guy/girl, the list no longer exists.

Well i think this thread has been repeated in the past, it will take to long to dig up....as long as this thread does not get twisted, its all good then.

My criterias for future wife
1- She should be dark , i dont like milky stuff. It is said that laila of majnoon was dark like night.
2- she should have excessive fat on certain parts of body.
3- she should be big fan of dhaal
4- she should be so innocent that she should not have any clue about sexual intercourse.
5- her neck should be thick and strong
6- her nostrils should be wide so that she can breath lot of fresh air
7- her eyes should not be green

Actually, i think it is more of the mentality of having a list. We are all taught and told that no one is perfect. It is of human nature to have certain attractions physically, mentally, and emotionally. But holding a list by saying 'this is what i am looking for and it needs to be fulfilled' is not right. Just like the opposite may be done to you, they may have a mental image that you may not live up to.

I guess that is what i learned from my sort of mentality that i once held.
