I was debating with a friend of mine, we grew up together, moved away in my teenage years and havnt been in contact at all, anyway i got in contact with him and to my surprise hes in the british army now i had a brief debate with him about all the innocent deaths that have happend his reply was something like:

"innocent people always die in conflicts, there is not a single war where only combatants have been injured, weather its americans killing afgans, or afgans killing americians. even in cival wars many innocents get killed take all the cival wars in africa in the last 60 years as an example. its easy to get one side of the argument from your personal opinions and your own countries news and properganda. its alot harder to think about the times where your own country has been wrong in the killing of civilians accidental or not"

What i want to know is do you agree and what is your response..if any?? cheers

your friend is in the army. If we want to go as far back as possible. their foreign intervention in the Muslim world created the twin response of terrorism.

They need to stop their failed war in Afghanistan, and get out. Their foreign presence and their failed barbaric war against the Afghan nation is meant to target civilians. This was a part of their COIN which has severely backfired.

he gets a paycheck to go and murder Afghans. Off course he is going to have to sugar coat it to some degree right?

They are at war with the Afghan people- thats it

According to his logic, he is basically saying terrorism (whether by an individual or a state - Qaeda or US/UK) is ok. Thats what he is saying. He is trying to justify his actions.

first of all, personal opinions are not knowledge.
innocent people always die in conflicts, there is not a single war where only combatants have been injured, weather its americans killing afgans, or afgans killing americians. even in cival wars many innocents get killed take all the cival wars in africa in the last 60 years as an example.
true but that doesn't mean that instead of preventing it from happening in future, one should use it as an excuse to continue for it happening.
its easy to get one side of the argument from your personal opinions and your own countries news and properganda. its alot harder to think about the times where your own country has been wrong in the killing of civilians accidental or not"
that is also true. people fail to see the bigger picture most of the time but accidentally killing civilians is cause of an actin the consequences of which is not known at the time it takes place. the side effects of war is always known. just because it can't be avoided at times doesn't mean it should be justified or compared to accidents.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

while I despise the BNP and EDL, they actually do have legitimate concerns for their English people in the UK. Look past all the extremism, and anti-Muslim hate, they are worried that they will disappear, and that immigrants will rule the UK- this is very possible LOL

so yeah, their racism is expected since they feel threatened by all all the mosques they see.

I think though that this has more to do with the effects of joining the EU. It seems like all Eastern Europe has migrated to the UK lol

so he defends his stupidity by basically saying "well others do it so why not me"
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

                    Listen Mazareah.

The British were once Imperialists/Colonists, or whatever you want to call them, but those days are long gone, Britain today, is a different place, Majority of British are tolarant, kind and not Racist, some of you guys do not know the meaning of Racist in logical terms, take saudi arabia for example, they look down upon non Arabs, that is why philipos and indonesias are treated like third class citizens with out any rights, that does not happen in Britain.

Mazareh, whenever a Brit or a British Soldier committs a War crime, he is trialed, and sent to prison, British Media dont do cover-ups as you see in the other side of the Planet.

Mazareh you should ask yourself, what about the 100,000's of bengalis murdered, raped and tortured by the Pakistan Army, and plus they got away with it and nobody was brought to justice.

Britain abolished Slavery a very long time, while in Saudi Arabia it was only Abolished in the 70's. In Britain anybody can travel while in Saudi Arabia Non-Muslims are prohibited to visit certain places, In Britain you have rights as a worker and have a mininum wage, while in Dubai you have no rights and payment doesnt have to made.

British soldiers did not need to be in Afghanistan if Pakistan and the Taliban stopped meddling in Afghanistan, Afghanistan was hosting bases to some of the world's biggest terrorist militant groups backed by Pakistan, Pakistan wanted to develop its own land, while dumping its stratgic assets in Afghanistan, that is cowardly and the Nato attack is a Blessing.

If Nato did not involve itself, we would be seeing Khaki dressed Mazarehs everywhere speaking Urdu mixed with Pushto and raising the Paki flag on every province in Afghanistan.

A Wise man thinks wisely, if American presence irritates Pakistan, then to me that is a blessing from god.

the days of the british empire are long gone because they are no longer the sole superpower in the world. do u think they left the middle east and india because they suddenly had the realization that british imperialism was wrong? no they left because they were broke after ww2 and their colonies became a liability instead of an asset. what british people think at home in terms of racism has nothing to do with their imperialistic tendencies. they see their conquered foes who work with the british as "noble savages"

Mazareh, whenever a Brit or a British Soldier committs a War crime, he is trialed, and sent to prison, British Media dont do cover-ups as you see in the other side of the Planet.
proof? these are the same people who massacred countless civilians in india and afghanistan, and no british ever lost sleep over it. i dont know why u have so much faith in the british media. this is the same country that has naked women in their newspapers alongside news articles. if what u say is true, then how is tony blair still a free man? the man that said saddam had the ability to attack britain within 10 minutes. the guy who ignored real intel for fake intel.

Mazareh you should ask yourself, what about the 100,000's of bengalis murdered, raped and tortured by the Pakistan Army, and plus they got away with it and nobody was brought to justice.
again, u are trying to shift blame here or at least watering it down because of some unrelated incident. thats like the pakis saying yeah we killed a few hundred thousand bengalis but the turkish killed a million armeniens so its not so bad.

Britain abolished Slavery a very long time, while in Saudi Arabia it was only Abolished in the 70's. what does saudi arabia have to do with this?

back in the 50s and 60s, america was getting involved in places it shouldnt have been based on human rights while in america blacks couldnt even attend the same schools as whites or drink out of the same fountain as them.

British soldiers did not need to be in Afghanistan if Pakistan and the Taliban stopped meddling in Afghanistan, Afghanistan was hosting bases to some of the world's biggest terrorist militant groups backed by Pakistan, Pakistan wanted to develop its own land, while dumping its stratgic assets in Afghanistan, that is cowardly and the Nato attack is a Blessing.
what does the taliban in afghanistan have to do with britain? so if ur reasoning for british involvement in afghanistan is the taliban, and the taliban being some destabilizing force in the world(which is bs) then under that same logic, every country the british has interfered in has the right to invade and occupy britain. the british, the arabs, the indians, lets go ahead and send their armies there.

If Nato did not involve itself, we would be seeing Khaki dressed Mazarehs everywhere speaking Urdu mixed with Pushto and raising the Paki flag on every province in Afghanistan.
these are some of the same nations that involved themselves in afghanistan in the 70s and 80s to destroy it (including russia who provides land and air routes to afg for nato) so that doesnt hold up at all. if it wasn't for these people, afghanistan wouldnt of been used as a chess pawn for years.

A Wise man thinks wisely, if American presence irritates Pakistan, then to me that is a blessing from god.
america is the reason pakistan is not dead broke today, it pays for its army operations, hamid guls government pension fund and whatever u think of.
