i dislike how many of you afghans are attacking him streight away, if this guy is genuine then this is quite sum amazing news and if you really want to win the war then we are going to need more of this happning, people like him who really see us for us and not these so called terrists but then he gets to PF and is attacked for having such a view, well done my afghan brothers and sisters great way to welcome some1 like him LOL

just to add i have an indian freind who is in the british army and his served time in afghanistan, helmand and his still a close freind.

In regards to msnbc post, "Cpl. Jeremy Morlock was sentenced to 24 years in prison for his role in the 'Kill Team."

So since he was sentenced to 24 years, who said that was he did was acceptable?

No one said what he did was acceptable, at least no one that I know/ have heard of.

I was just sharing this with you ... you might be seeing some hostility here, as far as why exactly ...I don't know ..but things like the occurences mentioned in the article make ppls blood boil, and not only pashtuns/afghans/middle easterns...but anyone who has any kind of humanity within their bones.

I am not entrapping anyone...nor can I prove either way. I have only begun to learn Pashtun/ Islam and found a place to express such views. I know I am taking a chance the government may do something to me, but in all honesty I have found a people I accept and hope to accept me. And I have just begun to learn Islam which I've been told is center to Afghan culture.

I hope you are learnng pashto and about Islam for the right reasons...(just expressing my hope). God knows best.

I don't get it. Why would a soldier openly come to a pashtun forum in view of "learning" culture and islam when he's right in the middle Afghanistan with real life people and examples surrounding him? Why come to a forum that has a host of people with various beliefs and cultural differences, and above all, why declare it? If I was in your shoes, a genuine soldier willing to learn, i'd just silently browse and learn and pop a question as and when I need to.

my indian freind killed sum1 out der he said the guy came at him wid a gun it was eitha him or the guy so he killed the guy
he still cant forget what he done and he regrets it and thats why his even asked not to go into afghanistan again and asked to change his role from frontman to just survielance
he joined the army but he never new he was going to be sent into afghhanistan and he isnt a deserter eitha, i have no issues with him as he was just doing his job and now he has realised it was wrong which is even better. i have a lot of respect for him.
