Well here's what I mean; back when Muhammad (saw) came; he had to be a bit lenient; because people simply didn't know the right way. A person who has some idea of what Islam requires, is informed of the right way. Therefore the excuse of ignorance (jahilyah) couldn't apply to the person who's aware their actions are deemed wrong.Originally posted by faye View Postwell that's not what i have been reading on about 10 different muslim websites, scimitarx. the prophet mohammad is said to have used forgiveness and love as an antidote to evil and to free people from the bondage of sin and crime. he even forgave his deadliest enemy, abu sufyan.
Now you get it?
In fact you prove my point, he forgave his enemy...not holding grudges .....but his reasoning was so that it can mitigate the political and social conflicts of that time. In other instances he penalized very severely things such as sowing sedition. The Islamic position is that in many instances it is "good" to forgive; but in many instances it's also bad to forgive.
Our concept of forgiveness is vastly different than Christianity, it's more nuanced and detailed and often circumstantial.
if Islam just said forgive people no matter what they do; we wouldn't have penalties for certain behavior like drinking alcohol/using intoxicants.
Furthermore "Muslim Sites" are often intended to attract the Infidels .....so they often "dilute" the real Meat of the Islamic Message so it doesn't stir any anxiety in a potential convert.Last edited by ScimitarXEdge; 04-23-2011, 11:17 AM.

Does not mean you should insult all afghans. You open your eyes, like I said go read the qu'ran, then you will understand. Dont try to justify your wrong just because someone else did a wrong.Originally posted by Karachi View Postwhat is my character? am i racist? what about the so many afghans on this forum that call pakistanis dhalkhor and many other racist insults on daily basis, they are not critising the government, they are being racist against the people, open your eyes, you never say a word against them, so who is the hypocrite?
Also my point stands, islam is the only force that can tackle these digusting things, i dont really care what you believe

Kakargirl,
That kind of discipline is so good for anyone.
Though it seems harsh sometimes at the moment;
it's for the rest of your life.
Think of all the women with bad spines - well it's due oftentimes
to poor posture from childhood onwards,
slumped over watching TVs or now computer screens, it's very bad.
Also to keep the Spiritual Spine straight is important as well.
Sounds like these teachers were marvels in helping attain this for their
girl students.
It's a real favor that they did for the school to give that help which lasts a lifetime.
Good reply, Scimitar above.

The Chanel company, which makes "the most expensive perfume in the world," was founded by non-Jew Co Co Chanel, but built to power by the Jewish Wertheimer brothers. As the London Independent notes: "In 1924 [Chanel] sold 90 per cent of the rights to Chanel No. 5 to Pierre Wertheimer, who, with his brother Paul, owned Bourjois, the largest cosmetics company in France ... They bought out Chanel -- couture house, perfume and all -- in 1954." [JOBEY, L., 11-27-90, p. 12] Feeling that "she was being cheated" by the Wertheimers, Chanel had sued them in 1934. It's really only since the hippie time of the 60s that all this
disgusting attire came into fashion.
Before that, women in America and Europe looked relatively decent,
if one looks back at photos of the first half of the 20th century, and before.
In the mid-1800s women in France, the fashion center of the world,
wouldn't consider going out in public with their ankles showing.
They wore Kashmiri shawls around their shoulders and beautiful
feminine long full dresses.
Everything slid with the advent of a Jewish clothes designer
Coco Chanel who started pushing up hemlines very aggressively.
If only she had chosen another line of business...
speaking of which, I wouldn't go near ANY Chanel product for the reason
of her malevolent influence on modest dress for women.

Actually the sexual revolution started with the pill. The reason promiscuity was once shunned upon was because of the effects of becoming pregnant. Once the pill was introduced and pregnancy was more controlled, then sexual promiscuity was becoming less and less taboo. Today you have people embracing it as freedom and liberation. A woman today presenting herself as something to be sexually desired is just, over time, an effect of the pill.

interesting analysis; but what about roman and grecian and even ancient Babylonian socieies when promiscuity was encouraged (abortions were rampant in those societies, especially amongst prostitutes, in rome there was an ossuary in which the remains of thousands of aborted fetuses were found under a brothel)

Re Alchemist's reply about Coco Chanel.
First of all wikipedia is NOT a reliable source. Much is left out of
accounts of lives; details are sanitized out.
This is true with notorious actors such as kirk douglas for ONE example.
Anyway wikipedia re Coco Chanel opens like this:
Chanel was born in Saumur, France. She was the second daughter of Albert Chanel and Jeanne Devolle, a market stallholder and laundrywoman respectively at the time of her birth...it was recorded by the mayor François Poitou as "Chasnel".[3] This misspelling made the tracing of her roots almost impossible for biographers when Chanel later rose to prominence."
Notice, how convenient for Chanel to fictionalize anything she wished, including PERHAPS her religious background.
At the time she lived, in high aristocratic circles, she was considered to be Jewish.
So these contemporaries were more likely to be well informed than wikipedia of today.
One piece of evidence was from relatives of Russia's Tsar.
They were angry at Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovich for having an affair with
a Jewish woman.
He by the way, was the co-assassin of Rasputin. He was sentenced to exile in Persia and thus escaped the Bolshevik hunt for the Tsar's family.
Thus he survived to be the toast of the town in Paris during the following years.
Here we even see how wikipedia is way off. It calls him a "friend" of Coco Chanel and never mentions the apparently big affair she had with the Grand Duke. It was such a big deal that newspapers of the time all said they were
to wed soon.
Obviously there was plenty of Imperial Romanov opposition and no more was heard of this plan.
So never take these online sources as very good.
I prefer well-researched books as resources by far.
