forget the name, focus on the restaurant. do something that other afghan places don't do. try a fast food kind of afghan place.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

sheesha will make the place look tacky, when anyone mentions a resturrant that has sheesha in the back you cant help but think ov "unhygienic arab edgware road looking sheesha/home made food place with pervy waiters" in the short term youl get alot more people and more customers but if you maintain it classy and classic afghan without the sheesha it will be more recognized and build a better reputation with time and be a more trusted place for having authentic afghan food. plus 2 weeks is FAST for opening up i mean really fast! dont u have to apply to the council and submit plans for a change of use application? neways bro, big up to you and goodluck, dont sell alcohol unlike all these other resturrants and allah will put barakah into your new business. allah pa de ke khair wachay.

P.S i agree Afghan cuisine sounds good

Since I love you like a brother, I will give you the list of names I have thought up for a resturant, that I might own one day. These are no joke names, a lot of thought went into it.

Tiqala - means bread/food in Pukhto, mostly in Khyber region.
Wagi Tagi - hungry and thirsty, in Pukhto.
            Mara - means bite.
Sobbat - like Jewish shabbat, but midst Pukhtoons it usually involves a sort of get together over food i.e. picnic, bbq etc.
Betak - like Hujra, or you can use Hujra instead.
            Charga - means chicken
            Oya - means egg
Kaab - means fish (if you want to serve sea food, nice little name)
            Doday - means food/bread
            Melma - means guest
            Korr - means home
            Nagharai - means stove
last one, I love, is Dishka - means pot

The thing about these names is that they are unique, weird sounding, and Westerners love these things. 'N they are PUKHTO words. They like exotic places and want to try something new. If you have Afghan this, Pakistani this, Indian that, Arab this, etc. people are sometime turned off by it because they have tried it. Many succesffull resturants have weird, and unique sounding names. If you want the typical, well, there are plenty.

'N of course, ombarak sha, Khudai de warke barkat wachaee.

from where you have heard about "sobat". This tradition is exclusive to marwats.

wow i wake up to a whole list of good names :O i new i came to the right place to ask i would like to say thank you to all of your for your suggestions, they all sound great and a lot of thought will defiently be put into getting the right name that will stand out.

@ manzareah --- wrora it is an afghan resturant already with the name khorsan and what i want to do is keep it to afghan resturant but just change the name the inside etc make it look classy etc. also i am against alchol so will not be selling that as its haram like youv also said and thank you wrora inshallah it does well.

@ wrayon --- manana for all the names wrora and i like your approach and i will take it up and think about the names you have suggested, i have never heard of any 1 of them so deifnetly must be unqiue thank you for the help.

@ admin khan --- i liked the name itifaq has kind of a ring around it in my head lol will also consider this manan wrora

@ PF --- i have a way of making myn unique, i am sure many of you love afghan bread the way they make it back home, thats like the only thing i miss when i go there and eat so much of. over here in west london none of the resturants do that bread mabey becouse it costs a lot of money to get that type of clay oven or something or its hard i am not sure but what i do no is that i will be offering that bread to give people a more unqiue taste of home. i was thinking serving it with thier main meals but also do orders for people that want to take them home etc. this should be the niche part of the market that should attract a lot of the customers and make them regulars i hope

once again i would like to thank you all for the support and that and inshallah once i have it up and ready il upload some pics of it etc and also all PFers are more then welcome to drop down and dah, so all UK people better hit it up lol

                manana

I would use a similar approach, by going for foregin-to-westerner names. If we have this advantage, of drawing people in to discover our culture and food through a foreign word or two, why not use it?

Of yours Wrayun, I really liked Nagharai, Wagi Tagi, Betek and Dishka, which has an alternative, or one I would more commonly use - Degcha.

i think that would be the best way to attract non-afghans to our culture and food etc

any ideas are welcome about how the inside should look so please do tell me
