  • Am i a true pashtun?

I am a Khan... my family are from pakistan.. we have family in peshawar ect. I was born in the UK and have lived here my whole life..
My grandad speaks pashtun but we were bought up to speak punjabi.
    We are Lohani Pathans.
    Are my genetics/DNA pashtun?
Would i be considered a "real" or "true" pashtun or are we "fake"?

Well which grand dad, your maternal or paternal? Also, do you know your exact tribe?

At the same time, there are many Pakistanis who claim pashtun ancestry just for glamorization purposes. Also, pathan is a derogatory term.

            lol

            real smooth.

come on ...afghans eat dhal too.

And they have something similar to shorwa but not quite. It's still the same concept - wet bread.

I would choose dhaal over shorwa any day of the week. What does that make me.

it was intended to make the poster giggle... but since u mention it further.

do u eat dhaal everyday?... the answer would be no... pakistanis eat dhaal every day, and they call it 'zaiqai ke liye, side dish'....

and majority of pashtoons eat shorwa once a day... make it as a side dish, just like dhaal is a side dish for pakistanis...

even in weddings back home (villages) the first thing they serve is shorwa, in small bowls and rice is followed afterwards...

anways, my post wasn't a serious one though.
