Planning for Major Protest in New York

Assalamu Alaikum to all in PF,

I, along with various other students, are currently in the excruciating process of planning for a large-scale youth protest against the illegal occupation of Afghanistan in New York. We are hoping for it to take place sometime in the summer. We need your help, as we are only in the initial stages. Help is needed in terms of managing the facebook group, managing public relations, and advertisements, spreading the word out to as many people possible, establishing links with other organizations and movements, developing a set agenda, being familiar with the law in terms of protests/marches, and so forth. All are strongly encouraged to at the very least offer support and help in whatever way that they can.

For those of you who are interested in helping, please list basic information about yourself and in which ways you may be able to help us.

I would also like to add, that we have the intentions of organizing not just any ordinary protest, but one which will force the government to compromise with us on an immediate withdrawal date and end to the endless suffering once and for all.

Darwezkhail i love you for this, its about time we did something practical, which ever way i can help i would love to. Maybe once you go through this you could help the members from England,Australia,Canada etc to do the same or even better do it in various countries at the same time it will definitely raise awareness and do major damage to there following and appearance at the least!

Getting a page ad in New York Times will be very relevant. They always accept ads. This would have to be done several times before the protest would start.

New York Times as you all know is read by nearly everyone in the US, and rest of the world.

^ Yeah, its a good idea but it needs people living in those actual areas to stand up. The most we can focus on, as of now, is our own areas. We are not superhumans, lol. Everyone's involvement is crucial.

me and my room mate can get the word out in our university for sure.

i think we'd also need people knowledgeable in media design to make the advertisements/flyers, which we can all have put up in our respective institutions.
