Final note to explain:
I meant everyone calling him graveyard DOES sound morbid.
The term graveyardof empires is fine as far as it goes.
But shouldn't Afghanistan stand for MORE than that?
Not just polishing off most all invaders in history [by the way I don't believe
they defeated Alexander; just gave his armies a tough time !] -
but standing for something very CONSTRUCTIVE
whether symbolically or practically.
The Heart of Asia idea was an evocative one because there was the famous saying that [something like] if Afghanistan trembles, the entire Asia experiences an earthquake.
Meaning Afghanistan is a core area which radiates influence out to every
corner of China, Tibet, Mongolia, etc.
It's a very powerful image.
I wrote in light purple-pink ink as an antidote to that Halloween-like
feel of the term graveyard: to lighten it up.
She's right about the Golden Phoenix IDEA of the bright resurrection
of the nation and people.
But! There might be thousands of Chinese restaurants named that,
so it cheapens the concept...!
PS - Brave Heart sounds nice but also like the Mel Gibson movie. That actor is not a good guy.
It's preferable to any other so far suggested; but it DOES take away that message of Afghanistan
influencing every one else.
In short Afghanistan MUST be SOUND, STABLE, PROSPEROUS, HAPPY -- and then the entire section of the
world will be relaxed.Last edited by Catya Sher; 04-05-2011, 01:22 PM.

Catya its not that i dont like this name but as you said Afghanistan is passed being graveyardofempires and believe me After messing with Afghanistan Alexander"s empire had a downfall.Heart of Asia is wellknown in AFG it is used as an adjuctive for Afghanistan.Originally posted by Catya Sher View PostFinal note to explain:

i didnt know about that saying but it does make sense.
was joking about your pink colour, and graveyardofempires doesnt give me halloween feeling.
Goldenphoenix sounds like a character from some crappy cartoon or a chinese brothal.
no you are mistaking catya
the movie braveheart has nothing to do with this,Afghanistan was braveheartoasia long before the movie.
Braveheartofasia actually sounds healthy and futuristic.
agreed with the last part.

Qalandar is the most extreme ascetic wanderers.
More than any other type of dervish, they renounce EVERYthing.
Theyusually have to do with the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar
in Sehwan Sharif, Sind.
I think he should have the word Heart at least somewhere - because
that's one thing lacking on the Forum and in general everywhere in the world.
Hearts are insensitive, uncaring and frankly empty.
We have so many warrior terms here, like even Sher !, but
why not include some Heart ? It's simply the most important quality.
Much more than mind/ education which are false gods in my personal opinion.
Few even mention heart on requirements for Pashtanas/Pashtuns.
I think one person, emkhan, did.
But otherwise, this is a lack that needs to be addressed on the forum.
Few here think of others feelings, they show : NO HEART...
Having that as a username for a frequent poster reminds everyone
in a cheerful sounding way.
