I always eat food (other than rice) with my hands. At home I mostly eat rice with my hands. In gathering this depends on the situation, sometime with spoon and the other times with my hands.
Eating with hands is sunnah and having many benifits.

when we were little we would sometimes eat rice with out hands, but we always made a mess so i gave up lol
but there is no other way to eat anything with bread without using your hands
well except when i break my bread in the krut soup (LOL @krut soup ) then sometimes i use a spoon or a fork because i don't want my hands to get ghwar (greasy)

once i went to this wedding and this guy sitting next to me was eating perenee with his hands. it was hilarious.
