(Belated) Happy Valentine's Day to all those who celebrate it!

Did you guys know that this is the day the most deaths occur in the U.S., most of which are suicides? Tsk, tsk. And, of course, most of them are females ... many of whom kill themselves because they don't have a Valentine, and loneliness literally kills them. ~sighs~ Women and their self-esteem issues. God.

For me just like there is a mother's day, women's day, and etc. there is a lover's day. people all around the world from different faiths celebrate it. actually some countries celebrate it on different dates so it doesn't matter... they call it differently as well...

for example in India its called Rose day... and on this day people usually express their love for their loved ones. the word valentine is not used everywhere (which is why its not mentioned in the topic title)...

no one worships some pagaon god on this day... no one even remembers what and how it originated, and many don't even celebrate it on 14th (as i pointed out above)... so i don't see any point in most of the posts above..

the idea is to appreciate your significant other in your life... you can pick a day yourself or do this every day, but it won't kill you if you bring home some flowers or a small gift (whatever you can afford) to someone that provides you with love and support throughout your life...

at the end of the day, its the smile on someone's face that makes it all worth it
