I too have a dedication or two. I start with my first.

This dedication is inspired by the liver that was dedicated to me. The picture of the hanging heart reminded me of an alternative take on a traditional story. We all know the story of Snow White. Black of hair, fair of face, red of lips, pearl white teeth - it's the 'perfect' description of a someone who lives in the shadows*. The Mirror, is owned by Snow White's step-mother of course, but in this story we learn that she has been wronged.

Snow, Glass, Apples is a story I came across in an anthology of stories in a book called Smoke and Mirrors by Neil Gamon. Here's an online version of the fairy story that is given a dark, brooding, horror twist. It's a little grown up, so please be warned, but as an alternative look, we learn that when looking into a mirror, nothing is what it always seems ...

I couldn't think of a better person to dedicate this to.

Lewaney Zalmey aka Heathen - I dedicate this story to you.

                *vampire perhaps?
