  • 2 important questions!

today at the funeral/hatam a guy came towards the end and started speaking in farsi and i didnt understand and he went on for a good 5 minutes after that i asked my dad who he is and my dad said his name is olumi and he used 2 be kandahar governor during najib times, he had come to pay his respect and was also going on about unity etc my dad told me he was 1 of the best governors kandahar have ever had and that he helped people out a lot. if this is true why do we not have him as governor again instead of that corrupt karzai brother?

2nd point is why is afghan media not independent? why is any media network in the world not independent? after yesterdays attack in kandahar my cuzans doughter was also injured and was tatken to chinai shapahana and my cuzan was telling me today that there were atleast 60 dead and atleast 200 or so injured, he quoted: " chinai shapahana marro per sar akhistaiwa", so many injured were brought in that no 1 looked at his doughters injuries and she passed away this mornin :@ why does the media lie so much? and why are hospitals and medical care not being improved? :@ all this is actually starting to really piss me of now seeing all these innocent people die and when they can be saved there just isnt the right medical facilties or personnel to help :@

Essentially, the media is responsible collecting the news of global reach and broadcasting it as it is. Journalism encourages objectivity – to present the facts without throwing in baseless opinions, allowing and positioning readers/viewers to draw their own conclusions. The state in many countries today, however, broadcast invented news reports that are designed to deceive the rest of the world. Very few attempt at surfacing the mask between regulatory authorities and audiences, instead they dwell in fear of the challenges played by state actors – publicly and privately – lest they are the victims of such consequences. The media is seen first and foremost as a vehicle for state propaganda, let alone as a means to engage, inform and entertain the wider audience of public affairs. Unlike the West, the media is not seen as a force/watchdog on politics, rather laws and regulations are constantly devised which criminalise freedom of thought and dissemination of information, where any work considered critical of state ideology or governments is strictly forbidden.

There is an ever-growing relationship between political power and media in many countries. Take Burma for one (a timely example, thus the mention). Why can we relate to it? Because, we too, as people dispersed from our lands, aim and hope to abolish these widely held beliefs that state can have complete control over the media consumption of its citizens, and the various ways in which military regimes, government or fanatic groups have restricted freedom of expression and in turn the efforts of citizens to eliminate these restrictions and regulations. We need open and independent media that can at the very least promote human rights and economic development in whose name the press is often sacrificed. The lack of media freedom facilitates corruption and policy-making and has a tight grip on cultural, social, religious and economic affairs.

i asked the same thing from people in Afghanistan that why isnt the mdia showing what truelly is happening on daily basis and their reply was "otherwise people will revolt against the governement.
Afghan media is very biased and certainly not independent and so is also the media aroudn the world.
