Split topic: Love and material gain

Na je! Parents always love their kids but it is their tendency to take from the most prosperous child and give it to those with less. This is a very big issue with people who are abroad. The damn people back home will be better off but still they will ask for more from you without having knowledge of how the money was earned. They think money goes on trees here. It may seem like the only way to make your parents happy is by giving them material. You have to make them understand your situation and unique position. Don't give them anything because khalath adath ban jatha hai.

A child is drawn to someone who pampers them relatively more. One sibling may fulfill every duty and responsibility through advice and care and protection, while another may always spoil him through gifts and treats. Clearly, a typical situation would have it that the latter is given more value in the child's eyes. Similarly, when parent's reach a certain gold (old) age, they too look forward to materialistic gain and often overlook the fact that one child strives a lifetime to uphold the family honour and values. It becomes second nature. Pakhto che waayu kana, che khalak hagha kas khwakhayi che lastunahy ye ghwarh wi. And in terms of the original post, being the last child is always exaggerated.
I share a few lines from my previous writings and thoughts that can describe the context of the original post better:
Gone are the days where modesty was measured by shame, where intelligence was measured by humility and where love was measured by emotions. Modesty is now judged by appearance; intelligence by a voice so loud and love by the fulfillment of desires materialistic. Gone are the days where simplicity was an aspiration for many, where the unnecessary was eliminated to let the necessary be heard. Simplicity is a powerful wing with which one can soar high and low, if man but knew.

I am very sorry to have offended you dear brother but perhaps you are not aware of the relationship that unfolds between people back home and those living abroad. Before you point out that this predicament maybe stemming from something personal, let me tell that I have witnesses this all of my life in many, many families. It is true and if the truth is hard for you to digest, then I suggest that simply forget what I said because your opinion does not really matter to me.Originally posted by unknownprinceBibsherina,
What you said about people back home (either Afghanistan or KP and FATA) was very offensive.
Another thing is that constructive criticism of our society is extremely difficult for people in this forum to take. I am sorry if I have hurt your super inflated ego, Mr.

The people of the world are becoming more materialistic with passage of time. Our needs are increasing day by day. We need more wordly things to fulfill our needs and to join the race to go forward. Thus, the parents love those children who earn more or pay back more.

I guess it is a question of skills, because my sister in Swat earns more money than I do here in the U.S. but but if I had her skills and was working in that capacity here, then I would earn more money, on the other hand the cost of living is higher here too!
As far as materialism goes I am the poorest of most here (last month I earned $171)....but my heart is rich, because I know that Allah loves me!
