                  women seldom make good leaders.

                    I don't know about Omar.
Allah knows if he is even alive still.
He is good at being a General but leading a nation takes a lot more than Stalinist tactics. I am pretty sure he condones suicide bombings. Most likely he allows his commanders to be involved in the drug trade and rationalizes both acts as compulsive.
Even his record as a leader is flawed. When he was Amir of Afghanistan for the few years, he pretty much did whatever the Saudies asked him to do. He copied their Vice and Virtue department and began executing people in kandahar and kabul. Hundreds of children got their hands amputated for stealing, even though they were dying of hunger. Widows with no sons left to die a miserable death.
In respect to his foreign policy, he is no different than Karzai in my eyes. When the hunt for OBL came through, he made a big spectacle by gathering 700 scholars to pass a verdict on the issue. In every instance of major decision, he didn't make any decisions. Never did he put his foot down and firm and stand by a decision. Rather, he would have the peers, or the saudies or OBL or ISI decide for him. At least Karzai is alone in his decision makings. But we all know Karzai is just a puppet, and even he knows that too. What has karzai done so far but shed tears and give petty speeches?

A real leader gauges his actions by being sensitive to the needs of his people. The Holy Prophet peace be upon him didn't stop the people from drinking alcohol over night. Nor did he implement the strict verdicts until he had laid the foundation of Islam by gradually shifting the behaviour of his companions.

Darvish, education is a useless quality to have in a leader. Educated people are mostly brainwashed into thinking in a certain style...mostly linear and socratic. Educated people are good at criticizing and finding faults. They are mostly obsessed with structure and method. A real leader must have the ability to think holistically and bring parallel solutions from varying angles. Most leaders, aren't even leaders, technocrats like Abdullah^2, Ashraf Ghani and even obama etc are just clones of the same system.

                    I agree with Darvish.

I am not wasting a vote on of these representatives of the old ways. Let a new dawn shine for tomorrow.

No he means like Muhammads first wife Khadija.

She was a successful business women, ran an operation in a few countries, had male employees, married Muhammad, 15 years her junior, keeps him faithful and monogamous.

He invents Islam, converts her, no more business, she cannot talk to a male without his permission or run any operation. He marries thirteen others. She dies soon after. So much for powerful women in Islam.

Screams ignorance. Clarifying it, I don't know where to start. And don't want to either, for, one, it is a complete waste of time, and two, I'd be cleaning your mess of you spewing nonsense over the forums.

Baghaam, this is the thing. Islam was invented to unite the Arab tribes. Islam can never be compatible to the 21st century due to the fact that Islam suits the enviroment Mohammad lived in 1500 years ago, for those who promote with pride, that Islam was never reformed and that the quran has never been changed, is in turn making a mockery of themselves.

People tend to ignore the Mawali status given to Non Arab Muslims, the Islamic slave trade when they conquered persia, remmeber Persia prohibited Slavery, when the Arabs came, they introduced it back into business.

I hope with time, people realise.
