We should not have false hope. Al Barad'ee is a very nasty man. He contributed to the whole false WMD's hype before invasion of Iraq.

that actually sounds entirely possible. if there is enough instability where access to oil is controlled by some parties as a war mechanism all oil-powered equipment such as trucks tanks and helicopters will begin to stop working.

these protests are because of economic conditions, its not an islamic revolution.

though, hopefully if mubarak falls, the brotherhood will have a large influence in the government.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

i think the matter is related as much to corruption and dictatorship, as it is to economics so we can not say anything yet..

thats a false image of the peninsula. There is so much poverty in the peninsula that some parts of it is similar to Afghanistan. Extremely poor.

nothing wrong with dictatorship if the leader actually works to develop his country. the problem is that when u have a ****ty leader who doesn't do anything and there is no alternative.

its the difference between china and north korea.

but these gulf countries invest in their nations and the standard of living has risen dramatically compared to 40 years ago, whereas in a country like egypt, the country has been in decline since the 50s.

the gulfs main problem is its population who dont want to take jobs which they think are below them, so millions of foreigners are brought in which upsets the balance and leads to high unemployment.

There are very poor regions in the gulf. Not all of them are rich.

Maybe you should visit rural areas in those countries. You will be shocked. I have some frineds who lived there for years. There are areas where people are starving. And they are local residents. Not immigrants.

                                ^ That rings true.

Mubarak was so scary looking - just a horrible soul.
Yet US articles on the current situation describe Egypt under him as "a loyal American ally" so that no one
will look any further or sympathize with them.

I wish Egypt will become more Islamic finally.
The New Pharoahs have been bad like most of the old ones were.
