Giving up is never the answer. Only losers give up on their family or friends. I would suggest you sitting down, and having a long face to face talk with that person. There is obviously an underlying reason for someone to repeat the same act over and over again. Perhaps him/her doing what they are doing is for a special reason you are unaware of? Communication and negotiation is what you need. Conduct a proper meeting, and find out why. My duas are with you.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Be honest with this person. Tell him/her how you feel about it, and like I said above, conduct a meeting. Make everything as clear as possible. Don't just bite the bullet, tell this person everything that is in your heart.Originally posted by Sitaara View Post^yes giving up is not an answer to any problem. whenever the person repeated the same act, i showed that i really got hurt and then she/he made promised they will not do it again. So till now i have not seen she/he do the act again and i hope it is like that from now on. But the thing scared that if i see she/him again doing it then i will be really in shock and will not believe him/her anymore.Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

they are lying to you because they don't trust you or are not convinced by your explanation of something being wrong as you say. be a buddy not someone who is starved for their obedience...be fair. if you don't think they can do something, don't lay the burden on their shoulders all at once.
giving up is not caring and if you don't care about your friend, sibling or child then you should try focusing on your self first.

i don't know why you deleted the original post but i did read it and here is what i think.Originally posted by Sitaara View Post--------
i am 23 years old (which is pretty old), if someone tells me that they better not see me do this or that , i will wish them good luck and then go ahead and do just that. because a) challenges are fun and b) i don't like being blackmailed. you threatening to beat the **** out of someone for doing something wrong is not helping the situation.
a)they can always overcome the fear of you beating them up so instead of building that fear inside them, have them respect you to the point where they are afraid of disappointing you. (that is something that you can treasure from the relationship you have with your child, sibling or friend in future)
b) you are basically telling them that their own judgment is of no use which is equivalent to telling someone they are stupid. that is not help either. you don't want to cripple someone emotionally. teach and guide them to make their decisions on their own the proper way for the right reasons.

i dont think 23 is old so i dont know why you think that. sometimes if the person is really old in age, they still dont know they are doing something wrong and keep repeating the bad act. maybe it has become their habit to do something bad. Now i figure out that we all sometime do something even if someone tells us not to do it.Originally posted by DaZahroJaam View Posti don't know why you deleted the original post but i did read it and here is what i think.

I'm not sure how the thread started, however at the end of the day, whomever this individual is-- they have the intellect and common sense to make their own decisions. I know that's a lot of handle, especially if you care about that person and want them to experience better things in life. But, talk to that person, let them know how you feel. And if whatever is happening continues to happen, then you've done what you could have. It's the decision. Like others mentioned, teach them and let them know how you feel. That's all you can do.
People are going to do whatever they want to do. You cannot change that. They have to want to change themselves in order for any change to occur. Don't get hurt. Allow them their freedom to pick better things, and follow a better route. Again, that's all you can do. And at the end of the day, if their still lying to you about whatever's happening, then don't ask. You're going to be lied to anyway. Why are you setting yourself up for failure? Why are you disappointed by their actions? Clearly, that individual needs to realize what their doing is wrong, and change their ways. Give yourself and that individual some space and think of other ways to approach the problem. Or don't approach the problem again. You've done all that you can."Do not lose hope in adversity and complain that God singled you out for punishment, remitting others guilty of worse sins. Your present state could very well be His intent to elevate your spiritual station. Or He could just be testing your faith. Everyday that you persevere, you grow closer to perfection. Thus, your present despair may be the beginning of an infinite blessing". - Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani.

choose ur friends wisely, folks. There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.
