  • Regrets?

    Hey Guys!

    What do you wish that that you hadn't said or done? Anything that has made your heart unspeakably sad and frustrated? Anything you wish you could change if you could?

    Well, I am regretting being very naive and stupid. I feel very embarrassed about it and wish I could forget it but can't.

    Bibi you shouldn't regret anything in life. You should take those mistakes, or embarassing moments and learn from them. I always regret something right after it happens, but after a little while i realize how much i learned from it.
    If it's a messed up situation, the patch it up and move on.
    If it's an embarrassing situation, just laugh it off, we all embarrass ourselves (trust me im like the queen of that HAHA) it's no biggie

          Sometimes, I wish I had better control over my trap lol
          But overall, alhamdulillah I don't have major regrets. Whatever happened, did happen for a reason, and alhamdulillah Allah swt has protected me from making emotional or hasty decisions..
          Whatever hit us could not have missed us and whatever missed us could not have hit us, so don't worry about it too much, BibiSherini. Whatever it was, it was part of your fate and one way or the other, you are benefiting from it, inshAllah, even if it's just in form of the realization of your mistakes/shortcomings.

            I regret ever being born. The thought of never existing, is so awesome.

              Laughing it off or forgetting about it is so much easier said than done. It is so hard to wrestle with you own thoughts.

              @shamlawar
              I too have been regretting of coming to the west but the pros exceed the cons. At first, you are mesmerized by it "other worldliness" and then when you immerse yourself in the culture and learn of its ways, you find that it has no substance and are disappointed. That's when you start longing for home, for culture and for your own people. That's when you become nostalgic because you realize that you can never be truly part of the western society nor your own because you truly do not fit anywhere.

                  i always tell myself as well as others that i don't have any regrets but i do have one. one that i will never forget in my life.
                  i used to know a guy when i was around 16. no he was not my 'boy friend' and no we never liked each other but we did hate each other beyond the limit. over the years we said and did some really horrible things to each other. many years later when nothing else was left to say and do to hurt each other i crossed the limit by reminding him of the death of his recently deceased brother. i would have done anything for that opportunity until i actually got it. let's just say that i hurt him very very much and i am sorry and ashamed of myself. i regret that.

                  I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

                  non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

                      @Unknown Prince

                      That is vey true. Youth are the most vulnerable to internalizing the "western experience." You do not realize it when you are young, but the world does come into perspective when you age and learn form experience. There is no culture or respect for values here.

                          As hard as we perceive our lives, as challenging a test befalls us, as much as we cannot bear it, we are fortunate to be among Allah's highest form of creation. Being born was not something you asked for, wished for, or put any effort towards, so your regret in this instance is futile. A thought as such, and the pleasure you sense from such a thought, would not be possible otherwise.

                          Well said Gulalai. Nothing happens in our lives that doesn't have a reason. In fact, if man didn't err, what would he learn from? What happens is done and dusted, but, the wise are those who pick up the good in every bad and take it on board in every walk of life. Regret is a disease of the heart, one among the many Rasulullah salallahu 'alayhi wa salaam has described to us. We believe in destiny, in qadr, and so regret shouldn't overcome us. Man can't encompass the light at the end of the tunnel in every situation, but there is always hikmah (wisdom) behind the Almighty's decisions for us.

                            I am a Night Owl, so it is easy to stay up until early morning prayer, but very hard to get up for them!

                            Always room for improvement!

                              i wish i learned how to play the rubab when i was younger.
                              There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.
