Mother's day is nice and all, because I love to go shopping for a present, but it shouldn't be a day on which we're extra ''nice'' to our mothers, because we should treat them with the respect they deserve everday.

We should certainly treat them with respect all year long, but I think having one particular day -- be it in May or one that we choose ourselves (and make it a family tradition or something) -- or dayssss makes it more ... special, I wanna say. I mean, let's be practical here. HOW many sons, no matter how much they love their mothers, are willing to, say, help their mothers in a kitchen? Or have her sit down and relax for just one day in a whole year while they themselves treat her to a lovely breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all cooked just by them? Or to clean their house or wash the dishes or do the laundry or do other chores mothers/sisters/other females usually do?

Yeah, one day is more realistic for those who are not used to helping their mothers in the kitchen so much, I'd say.

          Happy mother's day to all!

The real irony is the woman who introduced Mothering Sunday/Mother's Day in the US, spent an entire life campaigning AGAINST it once it became over commercialised.
