  • To the people that used to/or still do support coward US-NATO

For a while, I have been rather amazed. When I joined forums, I was ferociously attacked for being against US-NATO? Some people questioned whether I'm was pashtun or not. I was shocked. No Pashtun Muslim I know was pro-NATO US, so I was actually wondering the same about them.

Now these same individuals have kept quite or changed their tone all together. I remember.

You see, once you have treacherous loyalties, you will always have them. To activley or quitely support the killing of your own people, and to then be blind to it because it does not effect you per se is to solidify your label as a traitor- a label that can words will not erase.

This is why people who never compromise rule, and those that do are ruled.

Why have some of you changed your colors?

    What happened?

most pashtuns dont support nato, but at the same time dont support the taliban. i am one of these people.

i believe its the duty of muslims to expose and stand against those who bring down muslims, this can be foreigners and also those among us.

the world is not black and white, and good and evil takes many shades. dont believe always that the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

most of those people are western afghans who are separated from the reality of afghanistan and think about the good ol zahir shah days and believe americans are working to recreate those times.

But from the ages of most people here, it seems their parents
        were "Coming to America"
only after the Communist regime fell
or perhaps as refugees during the 1980s

First they haven't been gone that long.
It seems they snapped up American ways too fast
and worship one thing: a college
        education or professional career.

God seems far from their thoughts.

The Pashtun spirit is distinctly lacking in most people here !

I saw it myself in REAL ACTION fighting against the Soviets.
So I know what it is and can see these people
        seem very far from that.

Maybe their parents - like all immigrants to America and Europe -
push them to get ahead by education.

But that's really NOT the full answer, by far.

It helps but what sort of education are they getting?

That's another subject, but I advocate for staying closer to their roots.

One way is exhibiting the deep caring about fellow countrymen's terrible
        fates during this war.

Only Unknown mentions this and I always back him up because HE seems
        authentic.

So did SK and Maiwand and Zarawar.

But the rest of the ACTIVE members today seem stuck in VANITY, MATERIALISM,
        amassing clothes
        worried about their cell phones
and immersed in the youth culture of the West.
It's SAD for me to witness this.

        All this seems SO TRIVIAL.
Fine if it WERE Zahir Shah's time and these people were learning about
American systems so they can bring these back to Afghanistan to help it.

But these people all seem intent on furthering their careers HERE.
No one mentions - I repeat this - returning to Afghanistan to contribute.
        EXCEPT WHO? Unknown !

Yet you people are sniping at him all the time, mocking away as though highly superior to him
        This is outrageous.

How corrupted have the children of those immigrants become, I keep asking myself, that they are so spiteful.
Instead of APPRECIATING that he cares.
        Not only CARES
But is trying to find solutions to the current problems of the home country and people.

All you guys can do is laugh at him.

It'd be better to reveal yourselves and just honestly tell the truth: that you don't care about your country anymore, and love America only.
Apparently assimilation into America or Europe is the true goal.

Not staying an Afghan and staying TRUE TO the Afghan VALUE SYSTEM
which stridently differs from the Western American one.

Unknown is the only one who is really active here now -
and Kakargirl is the only one of the women -
who not only seem genuine but
        ARE GENUINE

          ^ PROFOUND.
          I hope people consider this.

I also wish that some of you guys would consider immersing yourselves
in programs over the summers for example to really catch that
spirit and also to serve and help.

Working at some American concern here like department stores or something
does not bring you closer to your own backgrounds.

If "fitting in" like a glove to America is what many here on PF prefer
just tell the truth. Don't hide it.
          That makes it much worse.

There are many ways to get involved.

So living conditions are poor over there.
Well I did that at your ages.
          You guys can too.

I had no family roots to take me to Afghanistan but people
were in great need so I felt I must go.

What I fear is the onset of American-style SELFISHNESS
SELF-PREOCCUPATION which would be alleviated by
going to help in some appropriate way.
Not as a translator or assisting NATO, but
just living over there and talking to people and learning
from relatives or friends of the family would make
some of you guys more caring I imagine.
