The book is Curfewed Night. And its about the ordinary Kashmiris struggle against the militancy on one side and the Indian security establishment's heavy handed approach on the other and not any Hindu raaj mumbo-jumbo as you put it. And the very fact that this book is a bestseller (you admit to it as well) shows that Indians like to read about honest descriptions irrespective of their religion.

The rest is all your rant about Indian Muslims. Its not like there a conspiracy against Indian Muslims that prevents them from rising in the Indian society. Their rather backward position in India is as much a fault of their own leaders as the govt's short-sightedness. Why didnt the same happen to the Sikhs? The Sikhs are non-Hindus bit they still are the most well-off community in India inspite of the communal riots in 84.

^ the are always two sides of the story, if partition hadn't happend muslims would have been a larger force but most likely there would have been a civil war and they would have been crushed by the hindus/sikhs because much of the indian army was hindu/sikh, heck even today its mostly hindu / sikh, look how few muslims there are in the indian army, this just basically shows the trust level of indian government on the muslims, they have no trust on us, never did. Remember the british were always against muslims, they made muslims very weak during their rule and gave most of the power to the hindus or sikhs

so this is the reason i would never compromise on the partition. I and most pakistanis could never live under Hindu/sikh control, that is not possible, no muslim should.

now as for the geographical location of the partition, yes i would have made it more fair then the british drawn lines, like pashtun areas should have been part of afghanistan, yes i agree on that. But I would have included Delhi and other surrounding areas part of pakistan

I found hard to forget and have thought of over the last four or so years, since i watched this documentary, of the mother who heard her daughters' cries for help as she was gang raped and murdered as the mother hid with her younger kids, of how they survived two days without food and could not return to their village.

& now for the cow cola that you seem to obsessed with then listen mumbai is not the whole of india & after canada i have had most BEEF in india calcutta then in any other place beef is available in india you get it in west bengal,kerela,madras,south india as a norm,some parts of punjab,north east india, & a few other places "al-kabeer" which is one of the best cattle meat supplyer in GCC gulf states is an indian company

You should say most Punjabis and Urdu-speakers like you...Pashtuns, Baluchis, and Sindhis togethor with people of Gilgit-Baltistan have got nothing to do with the artificial Pakistani identity...

i was talking about partition from india, no one in pakistan wants to join back with india, that wont happen, ever.

also i think most pashtuns on the pakistani side wont want to break pakistan, even ANP the main pashtun party is not against pakistan. Yes they want their full rights and i agree everyone in pakistan should be given their full rights and respect and freedom, and thats where i dont understand the Pakistani government/army, why have they made pakistan so Punjab Centric, i am not sure.
