She is talking in terms of average, and you are speaking in terms of general population. You can't claim you debunked her argument. What she is saying is something backed with statistical proofs. She admits, confesses, and agrees that there are far more geniuses in America than any nation in the world, but she argues that in terms of average, some nations do rank higher. Now, there are also nations that are less than a million in terms of population, so I do understand your stance on the issue but even though they are lower in population, they still have every right to make that bold-claim. Someone who is from Singapore can proudly walk in the streets of the California and make that argument, but if he/she attempts to say there are more educated people in Singapore than America, that's when he is tripping, and you and Mayana can both team up and fervidly oppose his/her argument.

I think you really need to take a look at education systems in other parts of the world and compare them to the US education system.

Do you have any idea how rigorous the German system is? How early they start separating children by their potential? One little slip before the age of 10 and you might never make it to university there.

Look at their engineering. No offense, but American cars are crap in comparison to German ones. Look at their autobahns. America doesn't have highways where you can drive at 215 miles/hour safely and securely. They've engineered both the vehicles and the highway systems to achieve these levels of efficiency.

Did you know before the age of 5, Egyptian children are the smartest children in the world? If America truly has the most intelligent people, and the highest numbers of any place, shouldn't they also have the smartest kids? The only reason Egyptian kids lose that lead is because their school system is not the best.

This brings me to the American school system. American public schools are riddled with problems. Their curriculums are way below where they should be, but I'm pretty sure they are powerless to raise them. If they were to do so, the public would probably hit the streets complaining it's too difficult now.

The thing is, in the US, the ones running the show are highly educated and very intelligent people. But, I must agree with some of the others here, that the vast majority of the general public could be a lot smarter.

Things have just worked out well for the US. It's a big country, lots of land, lots of opportunities. Jobs need to be filled. In good economic times, people will have decent paying jobs. That does not mean they are intelligent though.

Shamaar you didn't understand what I am saying. In terms of HIGHER EDUCATION we have the BEST UNIVERSITIES in the world.

Please take a look at the last few pages first and also take a look at our inventions. We have CONTRIBUTED MORE TO THE WORLD in the 21 century than the Canada and EUROPE combined.

Our higher education insitutions like Yale, Harvard, Columbia are no where present in countries like Germany and Canada.

No offense but you just in these modern days cant compare Canada and Germany to the USA.

We spend more on research than Canada and Europe combined. We spend more on our military than the next 5 big powers combined.

We do more research than them and we have showed you output. Just carefully read the last 3 pages and make sure you take a look at the links I have posted about inventions.

It is every Germans dream to study in Columbia University or Yale or Harvard or MIT.

MIT is a University that Canadians and Germans cry to attend.

We created the INTERNET in Stanford university. We have done a lot more and our economy speaks wonder.

We have our troops in Germany which means the largest European economy is under our influence at all times.

Like I said before you can compare Germany to Texas and you can compare Canada to New York but comparing Canada or Germany is a mistake and an insult to people.

They are not on the same level. Our public school systems are not the best but our higher education system makes up for the loss BIG TIME SIR.

Look at our Lawyer association IT IS THE BIGGEST IN THE WORLD.

I honestly don't think those universities are all that, bro. There are excellent institutions for higher education all over the world. Universities like the ones in the Ivy League only have one thing to give a person - their name.

It's so that when you shake someone's hand, you can say: John Doe, Harvard, Class of '77.

I won't argue against the fact that the US has a lot of industry. Like the lawyers example you gave, I'm sure it has a lot.

I am aware that the GDP of California alone is greater than all of Canada. But there are many, many people in California who have never used a computer in there life. Whereas I can bet you, the vast, vast majority of Canadians will have. It seems like a ridiculous example, but it's true, me and California are close friends.

The university I went to for my undergrad has had so many spin-offs that have gone on to change the world. I really don't think claiming anyone to be the best is a fair thing to do.

having the largest amount of people, laargest amount of geniuses means you probably have thee largest amount of lower educated and non geniuses.
