A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
there i was, sitting on my boss's chair, entering stuff in the computer...totally minding my own business when a not so bright idea started wobbling on the right side corner of my mind...obviously i was bored..so then i got up and tried to light up the fragrance lamp someone had gifted us the day before for christmas. so after a few tries i realized that there wasn't enough oil on the stone so i flipped it upside down which resulted in lots and lots of oil spilling on papers and the desk blah blah blah...when i finally got it to light up, i tried to drip the oil back inside the lamp while the flame was still on....sigh*** so then instead of the oil coming down, the flame came up and lit the paper as well as my sleeve on fire. so then i dropped the paper and tried to slap the fire off which clearly resulted in to it spreading all over the place....30 seconds later i was staring at a half burned sleeve and a pile of what used to be my job for the day turned in to thick black ash.
no my boss didn't get mad at me. no i didn't lit stuff on fire purposely...
sigh********
I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

yeah...i often end up giggling like a fool for a good while after doing something silly like that...sometimes i feel bad for my boss. the man should get paid for having to deal with my +8 hours a day...he is a good man. my own father would probably give me hell for being silly like that.
mayana...
