"my worst fear is losing my imaan or dieing a non muslim! "
Good reply. Shows how highly you prize your iman.
However, what could be anticipated as threatening that ? Or even converting to another religion, how could that possibly happen? What kind of scenario? I'm curious.
a silly one is the light that is reflected on stuff whenever the full moon is out. all that brightness and shadows as if it was daylight scares the hell out of me for some strange reason.
a serious one is heights. even when i see a stranger getting too close to the edge of a balcony of the stairway railing, i get very very nervous.
I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.
non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.
Passing away now or within the next 3 years...before I've gained the chance/financial security to go to Hajj and repent...
Khidr, my first exchange with you. I begin with a smile. If you don't mind, I thought I'd add a word or two, from what I have come to know (not necessarily personal experience) from those around me.
Now or the next three years is a long time Brother. Put it this way - a day has twenty four hours. Six to eight goes to sleep. Eight hours are put aside for work. About three to leisure which include cooking, eating, pass time and other chores. Another hour or two goes to obligatory Ibadah. That leaves four solid hours for us to engage in worship of any kind to our Creator. Every day that goes past, we can use these four hours or more, and every week that goes by, you imagine the number of free/spare hours we are throwing away. Why wait until Hajj, to circumbulate the House of Allah when we are able to rid ourselves of our sins day in day out, simply by engaging in good? Take for instance Ishraaq prayer - the reward in performing it equates to four Umrah and four Hajj - and this can be performed in the comfort of your room. Brother, there is no sweetness in life as that experienced in the Sujood, in the dhikr of the Almighty, in praising Him, in thanking Him, in asking Him. It only makes you remember, each time, how human and innocent we are. One who doesn't prostrate himself to His Creator has a heart of pride, as did Iblees when Allah asked him to bow to Adam.
Live life as it though it is your last day. Seize every moment, every opportunity in the thought that you don't want to return to your Creator with empty hands, with a tainted record, with a darkened heart and face. Undoubtedly, our lives, when compared to that of previous generations, lack barakah of time and actions, but the weapon of every believer is his duas. Ask the Almighty, for which nothing is hard.

My intentions are not to disappoint.
Thanks for the response, Khawrak! It may sound corny or cliché, but I sincerely mean this when I say your point really did hit home. Change doesn’t happen overnight, and I have been steadily climbing an illuminating ladder over the past 3-4 years but I do feel as though that his year I stagnated on my ibadah. This probably explains my desire for Hajj...It’s perhaps a reaction to the guilt. Thanks a lot for that little wake up call!!!

No, it doesn't. And I totally understand that, so you shouldn't feel the need to explain. That is the reason I gave the example of time, and didn't say otherwise. Mankind is here to help reroute each other, when we step out of line, to walk the same path and carefully divert the others attention and priorities. Islam has its beauty, we don't need to give it that for Allah has protected it to this day - a response to Rasulullah salallahu 'alayhi wa sallam's duas. What our duty is, is to not degrade our religion any further and truly focus on the image we are putting out there. It is questionable, and that is where we fall behind. May Allah only ever increase your faith and desire to be close to Him, for that is truly the ultimate success and accomplishment of our lives. You don't need to thank me, for it is not worth it.
