i once told my sister in law(husband's sister) something, she told her mother in law..her mother in law told her other daughter in laws, the daughter in laws told their families, the families told others...so the news spread so fast. frm that time i was like if i dont want someone to know something, i will not tell anyone.

It makes sense if this issue is prevalent among Pashtun women. I mean back home the women don't go out, their lives are carried out primarily in the home. Meanwhile, the men get to go out and stuff, interact with a lot more people and stuff.
I don't know if it's a stereotype, but Pashtun women are considered very gossipy and as such they need juicy stories to keep one another from getting bored. Hence, other people are a primary source of discussion, with a focus on controversial/interesting topics.
