Every year i make around 15 - 20 jorra new kameez partog for parties and at the end of the year either i give it to charity or to someone who would like to wear it. this has been my routine for the past 3 years or so... whenever there is a gathering, melmastia, party, dinner, or guests are over... i wear kameez partog... i am famouse for wearing a new one at every gatherng lol (thanks to Angaar)... i feel very relaxed in kameez partog and i usually prefer to wear it over any other attire.
at weddings i wear any clothes that is covered... afghan/indian/arabic as long as its covered.

at work i wear normal pants and shirt (i can't wear kameez partog at work)...lol

at home i mostly wear pajamas.

outside i wear jeans and long shirts.

i do go out with kameez partog if i am lazy to change... and i don't give a damn about who stares...

Our dress code says a lot about us as individuals, a lot about our status, our intellectual capacity, our education, our beliefs, morals and the like. Dress, possessions and company are the kind of things that say a lot about us without people having to approach us, they read us through our attire. But then when it comes down to the way some Muslims dress, you can put them into the same boat, in the sense that we're seen as Muslims, as foreigners, as migrants either way if you wear your traditional attire or not. So even if you don't wear it, at times, you do feel conscious of stares and comments thrown at you. I have only wore shalwaar kamees outside once (as an adult) and that was when I took a quick run to the supermarket next to our house (this was about five years ago). I wear shalwaar kamees at home because, not only are they basatra, but very comfortable. As a girl, I always wore speen partug with dresses outside. I'll be very honest, I don't own a single pair of Afghan clothes (sad, I know). My father has never wore a patlun in Australia. My mother still wears a speen partug with a jaakat damaan of any sort outside the house, alongside a few abayas she has. Wearing traditional clothes in my family is not something we shun, because of what others think of us. We have kept to those things quite closely. In saying that, we dress to suit the occasion and are quite good at it too
