  • Peshawari chappal

    As-saaam alaikum warahmatullah-e wabarakatuhu

Insha'Allah I'll be traveling soon and looking at getting some sandals. I thought of looking at peshawari chappal, as the traditional design looks neat and I've always been curious about them. But have a few questions:
    • Are they comfortable and suitable for daily long-term use? Or more designed for special event wear?
    • Does it feel like there is 'overhang' at the end of the toes because of the design, or does it feel like toes get crushed by the narrower leather at the end?
    • Are Peshawari or the higher kaptaan designs better for walking?
    • Any advice on finding good quality?

From a quick search, I found this shop
We have perfected the art of making Men’s Peshawari Chappal, Norozi and Kaptaan Chappals and Sandals of the best quality in the world. We promise to live upto your expectations.

Is anyone familiar with them and their quality?

    Thank you very much!

    1. More suitable for special event use but I do wear them in more casual settings sometimes while I'm in Pakistan.

    2. I don't know what you mean by 'overhang' but I've never had any issues with my toes.

    3. Probably regular Peshawari although I've never worn the kaptaan design.

    4. Go to any good chappal shop in Peshawar or other cities of KPK, and you're bound to find good quality. If you can't go to Peshawar then I'd say the best thing to do is to get a friend who goes there frequently to bring a pair for you. If you don't have any such friends then I guess online is the best route to go. I don't have experience with online ordering, but I'm sure you can find good quality if you look in the right places.

    Good luck with you're search!
